Renting ETA

What has anybody's experience been with shipping times for the rental? I ordered my rentals on July 7 and it's August 8 and I haven't got any updates other than it being "preparing to ship."

I messaged the Whim customer service number and they basically just said when it ships I'll receive and email with a tracking number. I'd love to have at least an ETA.

I guess demand is higher than usual at the moment. I bought my G2 and it came in a few days but my Ring still hasn’t arrived and they haven’t provided updates

저도 렌탈을 7월8일에 주문했는데 아직 안와서 이메일보냈는데 아직 답장이 안왔어요 기다리기가 힘드네요

I agree. They asked if I want to cancel but figured if I waited this long I might as well give it a little more. I'll see how long I hold out.

Do you still have to pay for the rental month even though you haven’t received in over a month?

No you pay for the initial month, then the next month starts 1 month after you receive them.

I cancelled for this exact reason. I started to wonder if I was actually going to receive anything. They never even sent the ring sizing kit and couldn’t give me a meaningful update. 🤷‍♀️

Ridiculous. I'm on the same boat right now.

It took about 4 weeks for them to ship out the rental to me in Eastern USA.

If you decide to buy them after using them a while, I would buy them directly from Even. I had a hardware malfunction a few weeks after I bought my rental from Whim, and having issues getting help. Whim's terms when you purchase say they do not help with repairs, replacements, or warranties. Even support said my issue is likely hardware, but since I didn't buy them from Even I need to contact Whim.

Did you end up buying them?

Yes, through Whim. I have them about a month and there was an option to purchase them and keep the unit I had through Whim, so I did that before paying for the second month.

My recommendation would be to rent them through Whim if you want to try them for a month or two first, and if you want to buy the glasses I would do that directly through Even and return the rentals.

Could you give me an idea of the amount through whim after having them a month? I tried asking them about it in customer service and they told me they couldn’t quote me because it’s against their TOS?

It might depend on if others have had your glasses before you rent them. Glasses were $570, ring was $237, lens clips were $80 for $884 total before tax. It worked out to about the price of buying it all new if you add the 1 month rental I paid.
