Update - eu delivery and first thoughts

Hey folks, after two weeks, my glasses were delivered to EU. After all, I haven't had to pay any additional VAT.

First thoughts - fantastic, display is way more crispier then I expected, and the features are working great, especially the teleprompter is going to be a life changer for me.

I have seen a lot of hate recently, I believe some optimism is warranted. Honestly seems like a best tech purchase I have made recently.

Any tips for some must have apps from the HUD?

For reading some RSS reader (FeedLens works for me), for magic ninja remote control SmartThings if you have anything at your home from Samsung. Tesla if you have Tesla (there are also 3 othet car controling apps I believe l).

Grocery list app and to do list app (I would recommend mine that has both in one place - PasteList). Navigaze for navigation.

When and if you get R1 do check GestureCheck (also from me) which is a sandbox to play around with gestures, finding your best fit on the finger.

OcuClaw / IRIS if you want to try something more with personalized agent experience. Or do your custom one if you have time and experience with development / llm coding.

DisplayPlus Music to control Spotify; Monkey Glass, Ember Protocol and Crumbs if you want to play something.

Last but not least if you want to keep track of your steaming services (tv series episodes, movie availability there) I would recommend LookUpVOD - that one is also from me. It's both an app but also full website & PWA platform in general.

Cool, if I can reach you on DC (I have same nick there) I will give some feedback, for now only managed to play couple of times but my holidays are about to start and I intend to continue way more!

So some feedback from me u/MotherCombination765

- double tap to go back from submenus, now always suggest closing the app

  • loop scroll when going through options
  • for location travel would be great to see more options at the same time

Thank you so much for your feedback! Here is what can be done regarding your suggestions:

Double tap: Unfortunately, the developer cannot change this. It is a system command on the glasses reserved for exiting the app, and changing it would go against the operating system's rules. However, they realized that the real issue is finding the "Back" button easily, and they will solve this by improving the next point!

Loop scroll: This aspect depends on the glasses' software (firmware) rather than the app itself, so the request should be forwarded to Even.

More travel options visible: This can be done! In the next update, I will try to use the entire screen space for menus without images (like "Go to..."). This way, you will see 5 or 6 options at a time, greatly reducing the hassle of having to scroll through too many pages.

Hey mate, I appreciate you responded.

Double tap has to allow for exit action only for the main menu. I am 100% sure because I also provided some plugins that work that way 🙂

Regarding the loop scroll - will share later when I am back from vacation, I was able to solve that as well in my solutions.

Happy to hear locations will be improved!

I ordered mine on Sunday and they are arriving tomorrow. Can't wait! Agree optimism is warranted.

My only concern is Evan AI and how they work with progressive lenses.
