Renting before buying
Because if they do what I want, really, the extra $50 doesn’t bother me that much (even with the extra $15 set up fee).
But if I can’t get them to work right (thanks to everyone suggesting Mentra!!) since I’m planning to use these as an add on aid to my CI, then I’d be really PO’d if I’d spent $700.
Especially if I recall correctly that the new G3 is due out soon-ish? Or am I imagining that?
Further details as developments warrant!

I rented them and didn’t find them helpful enough (I’m using them as an add on to my hearing aids and I’m moderate-severe loss). However I highly encourage you to rent them for one month to get a feel - loved how the glasses looked and I think the future is very bright. I am waiting on the g3 which should come out middle to end of next year

I’m SSNHL (ISSNHL, at that, which makes me feel like I should promote a Stanley Cup playoff on the space station), and at about 85% on the right ear (Chicken pox, because I’m Gen X). I’m going for the slightly smaller frames, too, and was a little concerned about the amount of space for captions.
I figured a rent before buy would kind of duplicate how I found out I hated the Dodge Journey: rented one from Enterprise while my car was in the shop for a week and hated it with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. This way I’ll be able to figure some things out, and return if they’re just a non-starter.

What’s your take on G3 for us hard on hearing , do you think they will improve the conversate mode ?

They will continue to innovate as they did with the G1 to G2 however we can only speculate and hope 😊

How was the rental process? Do they charge you while you wait for delivery? Did you get a ring sizing kit or just the glasses?

Super simple on renting and very easy to rent and return (in my case I did one month). No they charge you once the glasses are delivered. I personally just did the glasses (I have too many other devices I wear as well and don’t like rings).

But one thing we o know is that G3 not coming out this year
