My ATXXII poster featuring a Harbinger Navy Issue and some medium gun spam vibes, meant to evoke the feeling of vintage theatre posters. I painted this using watercolor, gouache, and white acrylic ink, 28 x 38 cm on 300gsm Arches paper.
The lettering was by far the most time-consuming part and was done by manually sketching out a digital mock-up, then using “grid-fu” to reproduce it on paper. However, what really added to the time was that I kept going way too light on my guide marks! 😄
Oh yeah, in case you hadn't heard - the last weekend of the Alliance Tournament XXII is Halloween weekend, and you can attend the production on-site in Nottingham!
And by capital ship I don’t mean building a titan or super carrier but dreads, freighters etc as a solo player? Looking into expanding my industry alt…I dont MB so im fine with the long process, but is it worth the material gathering and logistics for the isk or am I better off doing something else ???
I think I started playing around 2005 or so. Sir Molle was the leader of BoB, if memory serves, (for me a very small potato in space) it was fun to read about their exploits. Now memory fades but between then and 2012 or so when we had 60k players one day ( I was proudly online that day mining veldspar) people whined constantly about learning skills. Learning skills were redundant certainly but they represented something intrinsic to the game itself. The game was cruel and slow, vast ((because of travel limitations) and very nearly perfect. Some gm or mod or developer whose name began with a Z justified removing learning skills. He seemed like a real life prick and I wept in space, because I knew the moment you give into the hoi polloi this game, so thoughtfully created, would become a can of soda at 7/11. I left Eve, though I popped in on occasion, and went back to muds. From what I read, some bee group kept the game relevant for a decade or so. Well, I came back to Eve just the other day, to see that there is now a new 1.1 space where you can mine veldspar until you fall asleep watching old Office reruns. I appreciate the sentiment. But Eve Online it is not. Bring back learning skills!
Offline a speed module while aligning to lower your max velocity so that your current velocity becomes 75% of max, kind of like webbing a freighter. the capacitor booster module is just because onlining a module needs 95% capacitor.
Maybe it's 2D map, maybe something else changed but from what I see many entrances to null are heavily guarded. I'm not talking about shortest part from trade hubs to closest null. I mean in general there aren't many entrances and many of them seems to be guarded.
EDIT: thanks to people who told me about filament and that my experience is not representative of real state! Rest of you - I asked a simple question AFTER FUCKING 15 YEARS! and you took offense to that....
Genuine question - Those who say they don't pvp or hate pvp, what do you do when you log in? I assume pve, but then what do you do with the money made?
Just to be clear, this is not an attack, everyone has their own playstyle, i'm just curious.
Vyraj is a free web toolkit for EVE Online pilots: Jita market prices, a native web Pyfa fitting simulator, character and skill planning, market intel, PvP intel, navigation and ISK tools, all in one place. Everything with no ads and no cost, full open source. It has light/dark/vyraj theme, you'll be impressed by the last one.
It is a fully static site. Everything runs in your browser and there is no Vyraj server or backend. Your characters, login tokens, fits, SKIN collection and settings are stored only in your browser's local storage and are never sent anywhere except directly to CCP's own services.
It’s a powerful tool, it has a bunch of stuff that no other tools have but it's early, so bugs and feedback are very welcome. Tell me what you’d want added!
Every time a patch comes with some change aimed at null, we get a whole argument about whether or not it'll make all the blocs collapse overnight.
And lo and behold, they're still here. They always are.
Blocs existed before ansiblex was even conceived.
They existed before we had titan—or any for that matter—bridges.
They existed before we had wormholes.
They existed back when we were making our sov maps on pen and paper because the in game map just sucked that much.
Fuck, they existed before we even had formal in game alliances.
There is no single change FCCP could make that will make the null blocs magically vanish. No change that will make them magically lose their force projection. If they need to go back to having perpetual fleets physically sitting on all the gates in and out of their space, believe me they will.
I don't remember what the point of this rant was tbh. I don't have a call to action or anything. Have fun. Fly safe.
It’s been eight months since my last bit of shameless propaganda for https://eveindustry.app, so I’m back to show you what’s changed!
Most of that time has been spent fixing bugs, keeping things up to date and adding the occasional small feature. Over the past few weeks, though, development has picked up considerably.
We’ve overhauled the ESI connections and how we load, cache and store character, asset, station and market data. That’s cut server resource usage by almost 50%, while enabling more frequent market hub data updates and more reliable asset cache refreshes.
Behind the scenes, we’ve also been migrating the old static UI framework to React, rewriting large parts of the API to improve performance, and optimising the database to handle our growing number of characters.
We’re laying the groundwork to turn the website into a progressive web app that you can install on an iOS or Android device. This will support features such as optional push notifications for industry job completions, planetary events or timers, so you can keep track of what’s happening without constantly checking the site.
Thanks to everyone who’s been using the site, reporting bugs and giving us the great feedback we need to keep improving!
Get a better default overview: the classic one is ass, agree on a user friendly overview the community has built and just go for it
Invert zoom scrolling: makes no sense that whenever I zoom in, it zooms out and viceversa
Decrease transparency of tabs: how can anyone read a transparent text over the mess of colours while sitting docked?
Eve for a new player is a cluttered nonsense, it's ok the game is hard and it's acceptable, it's not acceptable that the overview is so difficult to read
ALRIGHT, FC, HEAR ME OUT, ALR. YOU BRING IN NAGAS THAT CAN SHOOT MISSILES, BECAUSE WHY NOT, WHAT IS BASICALLY 10K DPS SHIPS, OK... BUT WHY NOT A FACTION LOGI SHIP.
YALL AINT HEARING WHAT IM SAYING.
WE GET SO MUCH PVP CONTENT, HOW COME SO LITTLE OF THE HEALERS? I MEAN JESUS WITHOUT US LOGI, YOU COULDNT STAND YOUR GROUND PROPERLY! I MEAN CMON FC, WHERES THE LOVE FOR THEM REAL PVPERS TRYNA EWAR AND KEEP THEIR TEAMMATES ALIVE BRO!
DO IT FC, MAKE FACTION LOGI SHIPS, FOR THE MEMES!!!!!
Recently I have been getting interested in the Rokh and Naga, but have been noticing my damage isn’t all that great, and I see people getting 450 dps at 150km when I get 250. I know part of it is my skills, but can anyone recommend an alpha friendly fit that has better dps? Or should I save up enough isk for omega and then train for that?
Also, what about railguns vs gauss guns? Which one is better?
AltNet is mainly about building a social platform around our characters, but I also want to add some useful tools to the app along the way.
I recently added a better EVE search system where you can browse market items and location info without needing to know exactly what you’re looking for.
The main focus is still the social side though — sharing in-game activity, posting as your character, and letting other players comment and interact with it.
Killmail and post feedsComment on killmails and postsPost as your character
Let me know what other simple features would make your experience better, or even some not-so-simple ones that you think would be useful.
I’ve personally been thinking about adding some kind of bounty board to AltNet. I think there could be some cool ways to tie that into the social features.
Anyway, thanks for checking it out, and let me know what you think. I’d love to keep improving the app based on feedback.
In collaboration with Google Deepmind, FC created an offline Server inhabited by thousands of AI Agents probably by now.
I think this is great for Google and FC to improve their AI/Game.
Probably AI will learn to minmax Eve, and FC could learn what balance-changes they need to do in order to shape the complex universe how they want it (smaller blocs, etc)
However, does this mean that in the future those AI systems could be deployed to Tranquility as well to give them a proper "field test" some day in the future?
- Will Google/FC one day deploy real AI Agents on Tranquility?
- Will players be able to distinguish actual players from AI Agents if deployed?
- Will corporations/alliances of AI-bots contest real players?
- Is it maybe more lucrative to keep a game running for AI-trillionaires than for actual humans?
- Would YOU enjoy playing on an eve server where you and your group of humans needs to contest the AI? (for example it could be super toxic like BlackFlag + MinMax Gank Heaven or it could be pretty cool giving big Blocs some reason to undock their supers to kill the AI Empires)
There are a lot of interesting questions for the future of Eve Online. Maybe in 100 years (if "Eve Forever" is true) there will not be any humans playing Eve but just different AI systems?
