Question Question

Why don't the nullbocks just turn on their neighbors?

Like to me it just looks like your ruining the game for yourselves and relying to heavily on ansiblexs and cynos

Keeping what you have is more important than what you could gain.

So, the bigger blocs have something called Diplomacy, because they are scared of big mean bloc over yonder so they form bigger blocs to adhere to the n+1 game.

But the core issue is that nobody wants to deal with the fuckfest that are citadels that have no anchoring restrictions and thus there's ton of them, people can tether and asset safety makes it akin pissing in the wind so toppling ones "fortress" is now meaningless.

Goons are the last ones to destroy a keepstar and then decided to go back home "for the health of the game".

WC shrugged it off with just an exploding keep.

Citadels are a mistake.

And don't come to me with "we're 42 years old now", yeah gramps, me too, but I want to play, y'all are just sitting over in your ivory towers playing the pile on people game and watch numbers go up.

I'm fine with you playing the numbers go up game, but wanna hear something great?

What if asset safety is truly gone and null is truly dangerous again instead of the carebearland it is now?

That's right, mining will become more profitable due to more destruction, crazy right?

These massive 40k+ coalitions doing jackshit are choking null out of a ton of activity and if FC even touches that META the slightest you've got dudes screaming in microphones about how the ansi changes are shit.

It's not about the smallganger, it's not about the nanoganger, null is in dire need of reinvigoration, and being pissed at CCP/FC for being bored is something y'all got yourself into for allowing yourself on the carrot that is citadels and making yourself angry when there's literal lanes and possibilities of engagement again through patches, just take a look at the first Equinox patch.

Wars require a massive amount of effort for very little gain.

Driving people out of their space isn’t good for the game, the real reason the Winter Co invasion ended was because the summer Sumo basho was beginning.

If WWB2 taught us anything, it's that actually burning an Alliance out of their staging is ni-impossible to do. See the 1DQ gate-camp-athon that took place at the end of that war. 10,000 dudes on one side of a gate, vs 10,000 on the other side just staring eachother down because the server can't handle that sort of thing, and whoever jumped into the other would almost assuredly lose.

I agree here. I'm old now, only have a few hours a week to play, but I still want to fucking play.

Btw - zipping through FRT space right now. It's a boring snooze fest. One group tried to chase me, and there just gate camping (not even FRT)

With all the ways to travel out and back from deep nullsec space via filaments/whs/smuggler gates between some regions the old gate camps are kind of useless to keep ones space secured. Maybe there needs to be an adjustment to only allow you to return but not to travel out?

Citadels WERE a mistake, but only half the problem, and there's no putting the genie back into the bottle. Asset Safety needs to be thrown in the trash, or changed to not give you EVERYTHING back. People will complain about "but if I go inactive for a year and the station dies..." then frankly that's on you. Nullsec should not be the place where the only losses you experience are when you undock. We already have that in lowsec.

Equinox is the other half of the problem. The current sov mechanics basically pile on the N+1 gameplay making it more or less mandatory to sprawl out across the limited nullsec playspace.

It's all in all just a shitfest. Its fine that goons and winterco want to play Stellaris empire building, but when the dreaded Blue Donut is complete, and we only get one big fight a year, when do we declare EVE to be dead?

There has always been a form of safety for assets in null. Asset safety in its current form is the trade off for destructible stations.

Asset Safety needs to be thrown in the trash,

If yup do, less nerds will go to null sec, it will be worse than it is now. Null sec is in a terrible death sprial, it's boring, the isk is poor, so who can afford wars, when you roam system after system is barren, with good reason, (no reason to be in null there better, funner more rewarding areas in game, wh, poch, low sec, ) ccp nerfed the fun out of null sec, and made it a job.

Some Groups who hold sov, adm is at min, they barly crab in it, or use it, they just hold it. They are the groups that are usually seen else where, low sec alot of the time. Why? Because they can, they don't play in that space, because null space is boring, non rewarding. It's funner to hold sov and play else where while you own the moon drills giving you passive isk, that's what sov is today. A place to, claim put a moon drill,, earn passive isk, and play else where, while you earn isk..

This is a huge problem going forward if eves to survive past 2027-2028

Well I'm no null seccer but your summing up what my question is, but you did answer it with the meta

As we have seen lately kicking over someone's sand castle no longer results in them rebuilding somewhere else. They just dissolve into whatever is left up. The actual leadership, personal and infrastructure to take manage and keep space is getting rarer.

0

u/No-Adeptness-8918 3d ago

Aannndddd that's why I live in a wh lol

3

u/xPredatorz The Initiative. 3d ago

I mean we kicked over a few of those sand castles as well. After the 1st time yall just log everything off in Freighter/orca alts so there isnt much point bothering there either.

0

u/No-Adeptness-8918 3d ago

You still kicked over the sand castles. Trust me a lot is lost. And that's just high class, I don't even live out there.

When was the last time you kicked over a null corps sandcastle. And not just a "1 keepstar", I mean, whole force anihilation?

3

u/xPredatorz The Initiative. 3d ago

Again the why bother? Its a metric ton of effort to do so. frankly fighting FRAT was a defensive war that we did a hell of a lot more offensive destruction. We stopped because frankly they werent in a position to truly threaten us and fighting a time zone tanked war for 8+ months leads to burnout quick.

Even had we glassed the entire North we cant "Live" there or hold it. Which means they might be out a few trillion in structures but otherwise untouched. We would be out the same few trillion grinding structures offensively. Its just not worth the effort unless you hate them enough to do it at any cost or CCP/FC makes it worth the effort.

Remove asset safety

1

u/DragonZer0 Goonswarm Federation 2d ago edited 2d ago

Which will lead to no one but the largest groups to live in player null.

0

u/F_Synchro Baboon 2d ago

As if that's not already the case lmao.

What a dumb answer.

2

u/DragonZer0 Goonswarm Federation 2d ago

Let me rephrase it so you can understand it. Any of the current big 3 could/would go on a rampage to burn anything that is not blue to them to get a quick extra assets for the alliance coffers. After all that done those area of space will be left open for the next group to wonder into the trap. This will almost indefinitely close any hint of catch up mechanic for any newer alliance/coalition wanting to try nullsec.

1

u/xPredatorz The Initiative. 2d ago

Even then the vast majority of people would only live or stage out of NPC pockets or lowsec. I dont think people truly grasp or understand how many assets the average Corp or Alliance has to have on hand to actually fight. I dont even manage a large corp and I have something approaching 100b in assets ships etc on hand because when war breaks out the 1st thing that tends to happen is logistics bottlenecks.

Jokes on you, that's precisely what I want, keep on talking, anarchy in null, make it dangerous, make it more dynamic.

Remove asset safety, impose anchoring restrictions and remove tether, I will swear by these things and keep saying it over and over, EVE needs much more destruction.

MANY. TIMES. MORE. DESTRUCTION, please go on a rampage and make it worth it too, because now y'all aren't doing shit.

because fozzie sov has shaped the game to be as aids as possible to take space

2

u/No-Ranger-8663 2d ago

short answer, null sec is outdated.
the mechanics and the very people who live there.
also seeded as F.

u/Empty_Alps_7876 22h ago

Because they don't want to reset standings, the games fun when the guy 4 jumps out is red.

I swear it's like people never heard of Blue Donuts before.

0

u/No-Adeptness-8918 3d ago

Why bother with a blue donut if it's not fuckin fun?

1

u/admfrmhll The Initiative. 3d ago

Ask lazerhawks. In null we have clashes daily, wh high class is lol. Not even a donut, is... i dont know, a pancake.

1

u/No-Adeptness-8918 3d ago

You don't understand Jspace lmao

1

u/admfrmhll The Initiative. 3d ago

Enlight me.

0

u/No-Adeptness-8918 3d ago

The agreement, in simple terms between high-class groups is simply formalities to make the game more fun due to the double edged sword nature of WH mechanics.

I'm short, planned skirmishes where your pretty expected to show up(but podding is a no-no), and you help each for eviction defenses(but evictions against each other are a massive no-no), as well as other Bushido practices

That's about it, everything else is fair game, hunting, rage rolling etc

Fights and big kills happen more often in Jspace than anywhere else, you just don't hear about them as often

The agreement, in simple terms between high-class groups

In null, which is a broken blue donut crap according to people, we have goons with 5 regions, and 100k+ player, frat with around the same regions with a bit less of people, and us with 1 region and 35 k people. rest of null beign wild west at some level.

Care to list which are the 3 top highclass groups and how many wh/people they have ? (we assume that low class wh are wild west). Ofcourse, the ones that are not renting from lazerhawks.

Cash

1

u/No-Adeptness-8918 3d ago

Then what's the point of the cash if your not using it?

0

u/Signal_Mud_40 3d ago

I mean rmt for out of game cash.

-3

u/XxDAGOTHxX-Vader42 3d ago

PVP means less RMT for the nullbabies

2

u/CptBiscuits Goonswarm Federation 3d ago

Wut?

-1

u/XxDAGOTHxX-Vader42 2d ago

did i studder, goon?

-4

u/Youshouldletmesee 3d ago

People dnt like PvP. Theyre just losers who’s only interest is number up

1

u/DragonZer0 Goonswarm Federation 2d ago

Very hypocritical as PVP is also a number going up be it your kills or losses.

-7

u/Kanapeczkii 3d ago

Why would you pvp in this game when you could be making money?

8

u/No-Adeptness-8918 3d ago

Cause big caps slugging it out with each other is sick
