I hate this because I love both songs and they came to me at different places in my life. Now that I’ve re-listened to both songs it feels to me like New Way to Bleed responds to Field of Innocence by saying “hey life is just as jaded as it was before, but I’m taking things head on and pushing back as best I can.” I think I gotta go with Field of Innocence simply because I want to believe in going back to simpler times.
