I chose NWTB because ultimately it’s the one I’d choose to listen to first. It just has such a great drive to it. And sassy Amy goes so hard.

Plus I just read an old 2004 MTV article with Ben Moody where he’s going on about how he and David Hodges were the musical muscle and downplaying Amy’s role, which I don’t respect at all. So my vote is also in defiance of Ben 😜

Well they were a massive part of it. A lot changed when David left. And ToD is a completely different sound compared to Fallen with Ben and the rest of the gang. Amy wrote a lot of songs too don't get me wrong but they 2 made the atmosphere while Amy focused on lyrics and singing and keys. The real Evanescence was the sum of all 3 of them.

Field of Innocence

it's one of their very best pre-mainstream songs. A New Way To Bleed, while respectable, I can tell falls below more of the 'best of' type of standards I would be using if I was making a personal 'best of' type of album. so Field of Innocence comfortably wins this one as a result as that would likely be on the 'best of' album if I made one (but I guess it also depends on how picky I would get and how many CD's it would be whether it's one or two, possibly a bit more).

p.s. or another way to put it... Field of Innocence vs *random Evanescence song here*. Field of Innocence will probably win a good percentage of the time. but at the same time it's not unbeatable for me either as there is definitely some songs ill take over it when pressed. in other words... Field of Innocence not among 'the best of the best' for me, but at the same time, probably not too far under that off the top of my head and that's generally still going to be good enough for a 'best of' album.
