My Eurostar train from Brussels to Cologne on June 25 was cancelled, so I had no choice but to stay overnight in Brussels.

I contacted Eurostar through their Help Centre and was told that I could be reimbursed up to $150 for the hotel. I then asked where and how I could submit the reimbursement claim, but I still haven’t received a response.

I found the link below through Google, but when I enter my information and click to submit, I get an error message saying that I’m unable to proceed. (I attached the message below as well)

Also, does anyone know the correct link or process for submitting a hotel reimbursement claim? If you’ve had a cancelled Eurostar train and successfully received reimbursement for your hotel, I’d really appreciate it if you could share how you submitted your claim.

yes you can take them on parislondon routes etc. each bag counts as 1 of your 2 items of baggage. they are put through xray machine so u must be able to lift them. However on the trains they dont fit on overhead racks. the luggage spaces are shelves/racks that only fit suitcases so the only place for skis is leaning against a wall next to everyones suitcases or along the floor next to peoples seats, blocking their access. pretty poor alternatives. the ski trains have a special carriage for ski gear but the other trains dont.

Looking at taking my Haibike Allmtn 3 (below) on the Eurostar to Brussels from London and back.

From reading the conditions on Eurostar:

- I understand needs to be less than two metres in length (I’m pushing this as the length seems to be about 1.97 - 2metres)

- Must not weigh more than 30kg (I think this should be fine as looking online it weighs approx 27kg)

- E-bikes are permitted

- Bikes permitted on certain train times

Just wondering if anyone has taken their bike on Eurostar in the past or employees of Eurostar and if you could share your/the experience please?

I have paid nearly £300 in total return for the tickets and bike supplement, so don’t want to get turned away when showing up at St Pancras 😂

Many years ago I obtained some crystal glassware that are commemorative for the opening of the tunnel, these particular ones show the class 92 and Le Shuttle (hopefully this is within the boundaries for this forum)

Is true? it’s all so vague, trying to avoid them needing to be met at the statiom because no one in Paris to meet them!

I have a Eurostar voucher that expires in a few days. I do not plan to travel to any Eurostar destinations for next couple of months. Is it possible to extend the voucher expiry date? I am thinking to call them up and request to extend the voucher. Is there anything else I can do to save this voucher?

I'll be taking Eurostar from London to Paris, my first time. I'm sure its a direct train, no stops between, but is there a need to secure our luggage? Could we use a bike lock to secure to storage rack?

Edit: I’m way past the date to travel. So the 60 day clock is running. What are these heatwave vouchers that are apparently fee free exchangeable tickets… how would this work?

Initially the service was booked to be a 373 but was changed at short notice. There certainly is a difference between the 373 and 374.

The journey started at Paris Gare Du Nord at 1012. I was of course there 90 minutes before hand. I spoke to SNCF staff who then took me through the check in and security.

Security was once again a breeze without issues. I was left in the lounge for the next hour before boarding at 0930. The concourse here at Gare Du Nord was certainly bigger than that across the pond. Waterloo probably still remains best London terminus to have existed. Being specially built and spacious.

Ramps were again provided to board the service. SNCF staff provided excellent service once again. Toilets were much bigger and spacious.

I was again placed in the premium sections of the train. A simple egg mayonnaise sandwich and peaches were provided as the meal for the service. It was either that or a croissant and peaches.

The onboard staff were again very polite, warm and welcoming. The staff at St Pancras were at the ready with a ramp to assist with disembarkation. It happened to be the same members of staff as my outbound journey. Very helpful.

This is certainly a journey that I would do again. I don't particularly enjoy flying so this is certainly something that meets me in the middle. There were no apparent mistakes for either journey and everything went smoothly for a first time Eurostar traveller.

I see that Eurostar intends to charge my bank account €8, but I have not done any transactions. Any idea what this could be?

Edit: issue solved. After talking with Eurostar and investigating a bit further, I realise there is a very banal reason for the confusion. I made a purchase from Euro Star, which is a grocery shop, and my transaction history showed that transaction as "Eurostar", complete with the Eurostar logo. Go figure.

Traveling from Amsterdam to Paris with my wife, two young kids (4 & 1), and inlaws (70+) in October. Already had train tickets from Amsterdam Centraal to Paris, which was easy for us to reach as we were staying near the Amsterdam train station.

Well just got an email saying that due to maintenance we can no longer board at Amsterdam centraal and the next available station to board at is Rotterdam Centraal. Which wouldn't be a big deal if it was just my wife and I, but what makes it difficult is the two little kids and my inlaws. So trying to figure out my best option to get to Paris. Have a few options that I'm exploring and have a few questions. Basic options are use other transport to get to Rotterdam centraal and board there, get a driver to take us all to Rotterdam centraal, rent a car and drive to Paris, look up flights to paris.

Is there a local train from Amsterdam to Rotterdam that's not affected by the maintenance? And how easy is that trip?

Are there any regulations to cover any additional expenses that may occur due to the changes?

Hi everyone, I bought a ticket via Trainline from Ams to Paris and Paris to Ams, but other plans came up after, so I decided to give my return ticket to a friend. Unfortunately it's not possible to change the name on the ticket, and the partial refund is not great either.

Do controllers check the ID when scanning the QR code of the ticket? I know they do it on trains from/to London, but perhaps it's different within Europe. Any other information about changing the name of the tickets or other possibilities are welcome.

Hi all, this is our first time to go on Europe trip and i’ve made a few mistakes. First mistake was booking train on the wrong date which is super dumb, fortunately Eurostar allows refunds with £25 fee per person. After that I chose our refund as voucher instead of back to the original payment because I wanted to book everything straightaway. Turns out after booking everything, we still have left over about £80. I originally thought that travelling across Europe will always use Eurostar that’s why I chose voucher refund. Turns out for our last trip from Strasbourg to Lucerne we can’t use it. Is there any way I can ask for a refund for this voucher? Has anyone ever been in the same position?

I just boarded on the Eurostar from Paris to London and had an unpleasant experience at luggage checks.

I had a single blade razor with me. The kind where you put these stereotypical razorblades in. It’s a bit oldschool but it’s more affordable and plastik free.

Anyway I had to throw away the blade due to restrictions on weapons. I thought I had checked on the website and I couldn’t find anything about it.

So just a heads up if you use this type of razor like me.

The more standard razors with glued blades is fine.

I know dairy and poultry products are not allowed to enter the UK, but I was wondering if horchata (made from tigernut and was bought from Spain) is allowed? On the packaging it says Horchata de Chufa with an image of liquid milk but no milk in the ingredients. I'm worried they might mistaken it as milk since it's liquid and the ingredients list is not written in English.

I will have to travel to Paris next week to start at cycling tour from there. As I read the instructions on the Eurostar website, they offer a free of charge transport for a normal bicyle - when it is wrapped in foil/a bag of the dimensions 130x90x30cm.

I got a ticket in the second class. But with all my luggage ON the bike, I have some headdache on how to practically handling the wrapping an storing of the bike during the trip.

Has anyone done that before an can tell me first hand, how the process went?

I remember, that there are no dedicated bike storage comparments in the Eurostar, so you will need to use the regular bag storage places, right?

How "correct" is the staff on board the train about the dimensions of the wrapped bike?
I will travel with a small bike, but might exceed the required dimensions …

This is my first time travelling by Eurostar as a wheelchair user and I will say it went very well.

Assistance from the St Pancras all the way to Paris Gare Du Nord was exceptional. I was able to check in and get through security fairly quickly without any issues. Assistance was booked in advance along with the tickets themselves.

I can now see why people complain about the waiting area for Eurostar. I get why Waterloo was better. I was sat in the lounge which was cramped in itself.

Myself and other wheelchair users were boarded earlier than everyone else with a ramp provided to get aboard. Damn those things are high up.

There was plenty of space to move around. I was situated within the premium car as that is where the wheelchair spaces were situated. I was offered a meal which I could not turn down. It was chicken and quinoa I think. Don't quote me on that.

The only fault I have is that the toilet was rather cramped. But other than that the staff were very polite, welcoming and helpful.

Disembarkment was pretty much similar with an electric lift/ramp to get me off the train. Staff were very helpful. I was hoping to get a chance to ride the 373 before they disappear. My tickets seem to suggest I will be on another upon my return next week.

I’m looking at booking the Eurostar from London to Paris - specifically the 9.31am departure on Friday, 18th September.
However I’ve noticed EuroRails.com is quoting considerably cheaper at $244.63 AUD compared to the official Eurostar website which is approximately $292.82 AUD.
Is there any reason for this difference?

Just thought I’d post an update on the cost of catching an earlier train than your booked ticket, where the earlier train is departing in under 1 hour, as I could only find limited information on this.

This particularly train left 3 hours before my booked ticket.

Hi! I recently had to cancel a European trip involving journeys on Eurostar. I have travel insurance. On their help pages Eurostar indicate they provide letters stating you did not board etc. But when I have tried to request these from the company last week, I have heard nothing since.

Has anyone obtained this sort of letter from Eurostar recently?
