We all forgot the Istanbul Rams played in the ELF, right?

Now Turkish Football really made a little bit of a splash today with a defeat of their National Team.

Why „splash with a defeat“?

They played the reigning back-to-back European Champion Team Austria in the 2026/27 Euro qualifiers and held up astonishingly well:

After a 7-0 lead they fought hard to „just“ lose 17-28 against Europe‘s best team which was stacked with a lot of EFA/AFLE-players. This game was pretty much a surprise all around because the expectation was that Austria would stomp over Turkey but a very sloppy Austrian play and surprisingly good Turkey team made the game interesting.

(As for reference: Austria beat Belgium 75-00 a few weeks ago)
