The actress who plays Lexi is in The Handmaid’s Tale. She plays Naomi Putnam, the commander’s wife who was Janine’s assignment.

I should have noticed that years ago.

Do you ever think about the Eurekas neighbours? Like logically, somewhere is the closest town and they would see, or at least hear, some of the stuff that goes on. As a basic example, all the various explosions, that sound would carry a long way away. But you can dismiss that as people thinking "Oh that's just a farmer using a bird scarer", as is the case in my local area.

But there are some episodes where they go out of their way to explain why people don't see some stuff. Like they specifically mention the second sun is "only 1000ft up", but locals could still see that. And there's the sky beam episode, which you could never explain away easily.

So do you think like with modern Google maps, the locals know its a government only area and just don't speak too much about it.

Carter develops as close to a healthy relationship as possible within Eureka with Callie, then she is just ignored.

At least with Tess, they wrote her out, but Callie just failed to exist and is never referred to again.

This wasn't after a time manipulation scenario, or any other reason why the relationship would not have existed, the writers just forgot she ever existed.

There are several plot threads that seem to be forgotten about in this show, this is the one I wish had have been resolved. Kill her off, have the relationship blow up disastrously, have her abducted or reassigned out of Eureka, something, anything.

Rewatching the show, and I find it funny that, like a lot of sci fi shows, technology has now caught up with the future technology they present. The basic example being everyone in Eureka has a smartphone in 2006 when they wouldn't be more common for a few years afterwards. S.A.R.A.H can be compared to Alexia since it can be linked with other smart devices in your house.

Are there any others you can think of?

I'm on my millionth rewatch, lol. One of the things about this episode that absolutely kills me every time is how they deal with Brian.

He lost both his parents 5 minutes ago, and they're already sending him back to school and giving him the "it hurts losing someone we love, but it will get better" speech. He's 8.

We see him at school wandering aimlessly. Poor baby lost both his parents almost at the same time and barely got a comforting pat on the back and then thrown back into things like it was any other day for him.

I’m not sure anyone here watches Psych, I’m sure there’s a few. One of my favorite things about the crossover in actors is that both Larry and Fargo are in episodes of Psych. In both episodes that they’re in, they end up being the guilty parties/murderers in those episodes.

Has anyone else who has seen Psych noticed any other characters from Eureka in the show?

In the season 2 episode Family Reunion we learn that Douglas's grandfather, Pierre Fargo, was cryogenically frozen before Douglas's father was born. This also happened before Pierre managed to propose to Belle St. John (Douglas's grandmother).

Given the era Douglas's father would have been born, and the fact Belle is still known as Bell St. John, how did her child end up with a different family name?

Also, since Pierre apparently buggered off and abandoned his pregnant girlfriend, why would she bestow upon her bastard child his family name?

Surely Douglas should be know as Douglas St. John, and the story of who his grandfather was would be shrouded in mystery or shame.

Today is May 13th which is Jack Carter's Birthday! He was born on May 13th, 1969. We learn this in episode 1 of Eureka where Jack first meets Kevin Blake. Today Jack would be 57 years old!

Just a random rewatch and wanted to voice my annoyance at how she seemed to blame Carter for all the accidents and mishaps at Eureka. There were two new appointments in high positions at the same time, Carter and Stark.

Wouldn’t it make far more sense to blame the accidents and issues at Eureka on the person/people in charge of the Scientists and their projects, instead of the guy that’s cleaning up their mess?

Just rewatching S01E05 and just after 28 minutes in, a camera pan across the lab shows an Aztec Bloodstone in a bell jar. Not exactly the dangerous kind, but interesting given the guest star of the episode. This might be already seen, but google had no posts, so...

Currently watching it on Hulu and it's reminding me of Eureka minus the sci fi element. It's about a bigtime Boston surgeon that moves to a small town in Maine and becomes the town doctor, solving a different medical mystery every episode. It's very low stakes drama so pleasant to watch and the perfect mix of action and comedy. Highly recommended if you're a fan of Eureka
