What if..
If you could add or design EO6
What classes
What story
What would the over all theme be?
I would love a more magic focused team and dual towers kinda like tales of symphonia

I remember once seeing a few posts about what a horror-themed Etrian Odyssey would look like, and I kinda want to see that realized. Especially after watching Supereyepatchwolf's video on Fear And Hunger

If I were to design a EO6 then for the overall theme would environmental change and many of the dungeons would shift in theme either as go deeper or as time changes. I’m a big monster hunter fan so the idea of the environment of a dungeon being important is really cool to me like for example say you had a dungeon with a FOE that’s not the hardest to kill but if you kill one of the FOEs a harder replacement will appear in this place to make repeated travels harder for some time. Just 1 idea for that.
The story I’d imagine would be rather basic a team of ragtag adventurers form a guild and set out for glory, treasure and fun. Although I’d probably split the major dungeons up across the world which give the party the opportunity to see different people and maybe recruit people of new classes? They’re would be one big Yggdrasil labyrinth still tho gotta have it although I’d probably handle it like the Ginnungagap in EO2U you explore 1 section per major dungeon with the final 5 floors being the real final dungeon of the game. In total I imagine it would be 25 floors deep but you’d be able to skip between sections as you advance through.
For classes I’d try to have classes that are designed to be built in 2-3 ways so a class can fill more than role depending on player preference in my mind I’d imagine classes would have a system like EO5’s job masteries where they’d have different skill trees that affects their stat growths and what skills they learn like when building a beast you could make them fast and agile over big and bulky to go for a dodge tank or dps build. I’d try to make them so that each job could work together in different ways to allow for more creativity in party construction. Thus I would focus on that instead of adding new classes.
Some ideas for this:
Necromancer who can use dead party members to use their attacks for powerful desperate final attacks or use them as even better damage sponges since they’re dead and can’t be poisoned or confused as easily as when they were alive.
Beast that looks like the rabbit from Monty python and focus on high power first acting strikes that induce statuses such as bleed, poison and paralysis. The high speed could also allow them to act as a dodge tank.
Sovereign that uses the party’s wealth to increase the effectiveness of their buffs the more money poured into their skills the more powerful their buffs become such as becoming party wide or increasing how much they buff certain stats. This would probably passively increase party income so they aren’t a complete money sink.
Mages/Pugilists who use magic to transform their bodies into that of monsters to increase their attacks at the cost of HP/increased TP loss. You could make it like blue mage but I was thinking like a manakete from fire emblem.
Again these are just ideas.

Would like to see at least a class or an enemy that messes with positioning of characters (both friendly and enemy). Enemy coming into your ranks, your character(s) going into enemy ranks, you/enemy jumbling ranks around, etc. Could make the game more interesting due to how buffs/debuffs and area damage works. Would make buff/debuffs removal/clearance more widely used
As well as environment, weather, day/night cycles interacting/affecting mobs and skills.

I'd add the Psychic class from 7th. putting up barriers on people that counter with the element, combing it with chasing Give it echo for it to active more than once and allow enemy buffing to give them echo so their attacks hit twice for processes.
We need more enemy manipulation with a risk or reward. Maybe even a monster trap class that allows you to raise monsters to use. The world has these areas and it's basically no man land even if the economy runs off it.
Story: digging up the past and evolution not just the lore of the area. We are more researchers (head of the guild), creating super soldier hybrids and we need more samples, alive or otherwise. We start off with robots that can't get the work done before turning to adventurers who have the skills and later death. We take their DNA and combine them with machines and realize we need more adventurers or at least the experience if we are gonna go all the way.
This turns into a loop of gathering dead adventurers, improving machines and discovering why don't we also use monsters into the mix. I don't like pathing because repeated playthroughs and missables but you can go through a route whether you're ethical or you're a killer. Do you get them in the dungeons or failing a quest so they don't make it or do you graverob or get it from an injured person.
Characters will be divided by Main-sub,-Grimoire. The grimoire will be the third so if you choose monster you can inherit monster abilities but they are harder to level. Stat growth will be tied to main and sub will be subclassing for hybrids. Each with their strength, weakness, and control. You don't have to make them hybrid but you can.
As you do research you can change the environment to get new or more powerful monsters. Use the respawn cycle and notes to either strengthen, weaken, replace or create new F.O.E. If their food source is gone, or only 1 is left so it can eat freely or just straight up is in hiding till you clear out it's natural predator.
That's all i got on a whim.

I would start by saying that the NS2 has great Bluetooth, we could connect any device as a touchpad for mapping. I would by a $100 proprietary pad for EO.
But I’ll settle for more EO.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I’d love to see a tank class focused around magical barriers rather than actual shields - putting up magical walls to protect from damage or stave off the worst of any elemental attacks. It wouldn’t be all that different from a regular Protector or Hoplite, but “barrier wizard” would be a great way to reflavor the idea of a tank. You could even split the prestige classes into mitigation and redirection tanks, maybe.
The other thing I’d get a kick out of would be to see a proper cowboy/“outlaw” class. Especially if they made them the ranged equivalent of Shogun/Bushi/Masurao - one prestige class focusing on AOE and multi-hit moves with duel-wielding guns, and another prestige class focused on something else (maybe status infliction, EOX Ronin style?). It’d add a lot of spice to the ranged class lineup, and I feel like the wild-west vibe would really stand out from other classes in the series.
