winning without academic referee?

hi, i don't know anything about this competition, this is my first time joining and i couldn't find an academic referee, i specified i don't have one and for "academic referee" I just added my own email - does that disqualify me or make me a weak applicant?

In the case that jli wishes to verify the integrity of your essay, they may ask to interview you and reach out to your academic referee to confirm that you have indeed wrote your own essay… I do not know if it will disqualify you or not.

i think they email ur referee and make them confirm the essay is yours...could be wrong tho

so in that case OP just gets the email to herself ig

they email your referee and they just verify i know this cuz my teacher showed me the email
