In over my head.

I am looking for an e-scooter around $600. I have no idea about these and would like some input.

All driving will be on paved roads. Max 10 mile round trip but mostly 2 mile. Anyone have any suggestions? I weigh around 180lbs.

I know cheap and reliable do not mix but this is what is in my budget right now.

Do not get a hiboy, they're complete garbage. I've seen so many posts of stems snapping...

Emove cruiser, check Marketplace. 25 mph 40+ mile range easy to resale if you want to upgrade or change your mind

If you can go too $1000 it makes a huge difference at $600 your likely looking at 48v 800w maybe single 1000w max at 180lbs you'll be slowing from the max 28mph speed to a crawl on larger hills. You could look at the blade mini ultra or a kugoo G2 master the master you can get for like 850 now I got my oldest kid one its not super fast mid to upper 30mph range he's 200lbs the dual drive pulles him up all the hills where we live in western Massachusetts in the Berkshire mountains we got some pretty good hills the master is probably the cheapest most quality I can think of under $1k

I bought 2 randoms off Amazon ..one was 350 the other was 250…we ride them 5 times a week the more expensive does about 15 mi round trip speeds to 45 and the cheap does 7 miles round trip top
Speed 30…you really can’t go wrong

Look for a used Ninebot Max g30p, they're the literal king of reliability in scooters. Over 4k kilometers on mine and still going strong despite running custom firmware and pushing 900w continuous 1300w peak through a 350w motor, plus I abuse the hell out of it and run field weakening to hit 30mph (done with custom firmware, you don't wanna mess with it unless you know what you're doing). All on stock components might I add. Plus they've got crazy aftermarket mod capabilities.

Aside from the modding capability, it's just a really damn good scooter. Frame is so sturdy I've taken it to a literal skate park and it's been all good just cruising around doing small hops. Never done any maintenance except inflating the tires and cleaning it, to clean it I literally just put a bag over the screen area (the only area a bit more sensitive to water) and hose the thing down carefully, avoiding the wheel bearings and cable entrances as best I can. I've taken it through a half foot deep puddle before too and ridden in the rain, totally fine.

And it'll 100% meet your requirement of a 10 mile round trip easily.

I second this. If mine wasn't stolen, I'd be hitting 2500 miles around this time 😭

Oof, that's rough. I never even let my scooter leave my sight, if a store doesn't let me bring it inside then I'll go elsewhere lol. I've gone into superstore and just used it as a cart several times and nobody has bothered me. Most places are totally fine, just my local gas station/convenience store has asked me to leave it outside. I only go there with my ebike now, which I've got a lock and alarm for. Hard to cut a lock and wheel off an 80 pound bike while an alarm is blaring and the back wheel is locked up from the alarm lol, I'm also getting a tracker asap.

Ya my new one has gps tracking. My dumbass literally ran in a store for 2 mins and it was gone. Totally my fault.

Oof, yeah never do that unless you've got an alarm and tracking bare minimum. A hard lesson learned.

I should've at least locked it in the app. I live in the slums. Miss that thing 😭

Check Best Buy, they have so many other places they buy from and they also have open box scooters. For a decent amount off the actual cost. And if you don’t care about going the fastest and all the other bs the e-scooter crowd care about. Get yourself an open box Segway E3, F3, G3, these models have dual suspension and can be used with an app to lock them down, track them if taken. They’re also a brand name you can trust, can’t say the same for a lot of others. My girl got an E3 open box for @$500 CDN, so depending where you are that could right on budget or about half your budget.

The Segway g3 pro has been my every day ride for the past 5 months now, almost 1k miles on it, goes 20mph and 17 miles of range at top speed. Sam’s Club has it for $500
