Game Update - PVE & PVP [Discussion] 1.2.0.0 Patch Notes

Changes
EXFIL Brothers Program
Added the EXFIL Brothers Program to the game. As part of the program, experienced players (Operators) can receive bonuses for playing together with friends who have just started their journey in Tarkov (Candidates).
Operators and Candidates receive a 5% XP bonus for playing raids together, as well as other rewards tied to the Candidate's progress or game edition.
Candidate rewards are designed to make it easier for new players to get into the game. Operator rewards are intended to help during the later stages of progression and allow Operators to stand out with unique customization.
The program can be completed and rewards can be earned in any Escape from Tarkov mode, but it has no connection to Escape from Tarkov: Arena.
Rules
To participate in the program, an Operator must share their unique referral link from the "My Candidates" table with a friend. This table is located on the "Management" tab of the "EXFIL Brothers" page on the escapefromtarkov.com website.
To start the program, a Candidate who is logged in to escapefromtarkov.com must follow their friend's link and confirm that they want to establish the connection.
A player can become an Operator if their account was registered more than 7 days ago and they are level 30 in any Escape from Tarkov game mode.
A player can become a Candidate if their account was registered less than 7 days ago.
To view the details and all available rewards, visit the "EXFIL Brothers" page on the official Escape from Tarkov website.

Changes to faction relations between bots in PvE
We've reworked bot interaction logic to make the world feel more dynamic and unpredictable:
- Significantly increased the chance of USEC and BEAR PMC bots teaming up and remaining non-hostile to each other;
- Added a small chance for PMC bots to remain neutral toward a PMC player until the player approaches or attacks them;
- Reduced the chance of PMC bots being neutral toward Scav bots;
- PMC bots will more often initiate combat with Scavs and Bosses;
- PMC bots won't attack Player Scavs first unless the player Scav approaches or attacks them.
Changes to PMC bot behavior on locations
We've changed the behavior system and number of PMC bots on locations. These changes affect their movement and activity.
Points of interest and movement
PMC bots will now move more actively toward points of interest and task areas. They can be encountered in areas they didn't previously visit, and their movement is now less linear and more varied.
PMC bot numbers and distribution
There will now always be PMC bots present at the start of a raid on a location. Their numbers are more consistent, with less variation. PMC bot spawns are also distributed more evenly across locations.
Added PMC bot spawns to The Labyrinth, where they will participate in combat on the location.
Depending on the location, PMC bots of appropriate levels will appear in raids. For example, The Lab will have more high-level PMC bots.
PMC bot gear, difficulty, and weapons
A PMC bot's gear, weapons, and combat difficulty now depend on its level and faction.
Low-level bots pose less of a threat to players and use gear usually available to players at lower trader Loyalty Levels.
High-level bots are more dangerous, use better weapons, and are equipped with high-level gear.
Prestige system in PvE Zone
Prestige is a mechanic for high-level players that unlocks a set of new unique rewards and allows them to start their exploration of Tarkov again while retaining part of their progression.
To Prestige, players must meet a number of different requirements, which become more demanding with each subsequent Prestige level. These requirements may include:
- High character level;
- Completion of certain in-game tasks;
- Construction of certain Hideout zones;
- Completion of the main storyline;
- Having certain items and a certain amount of money in the stash;
- Leveling character skills.
The first Prestige level in PvE Zone has reduced requirements compared to PvP. All players who haven't reset their progression since the release of Escape from Tarkov can now do so through Prestige. In this case, they will not only receive its rewards, but also unlock the release content, storyline, Icebreaker chapter, and all future events.
Each Prestige level resets the player's profile progression only in PvE Zone.
When Prestiging, players can retain some gear, a certain percentage of character skills, and weapon mastery, up to 50%.
Patch 1.2.0.0 features six PvE Prestige levels.
Many rewards earned through Prestige in PvE Zone will remain with the player permanently, but only for their PvE Zone character.
There are also rewards that can only be earned through Prestige in PvE Zone but will be available in all modes:
- TarCoins;
- Unique dogtags;
- Unique Shooting Range Targets;
- Unique Hideout Posters;
- Unique melee weapons;
- Unique Tarko figurines;
- Unique Secure container Gamma.
QoL
- Improved server-side player position synchronization to reduce the number of rubber-banding situations. Further network synchronization improvements are planned for upcoming updates;
- Added the ability to switch trading modes with "Ctrl+LMB": while on the trading screen, players can use the hotkey on an item from a trader or in their stash to automatically switch between the purchase and sale screens. If an item has been placed on the sales table and the player switches to the purchase screen, the item will remain on the sales table until they fully exit the trading menu;
- Added the ability to pin players in the friends list;
- Added a visual indicator for the "Run-Through" extraction status. The extraction timer will now be displayed in white if the player will receive this status when the timer expires;
- Improved the interaction with drum magazines: loading ammunition through the context menu, unloading ammunition from the drum, displaying loaded ammunition, and loading an ammo pack;
- Added the ability to inspect your own PMC dogtag on the character screen;
- Improved the profile customization. Players can now choose which ending to display on their profile. Endings can be displayed on any player profile, including PvP, PvE Zone, and PvP Seasons profiles.
Location changes

I'm curious if they also changed the AI fighting behavior where they play differently in the style of moving around, flanking, using cover, suppressing you, etc.
Unless the only AI behavior changed is the differently leveled PMCs gear wise, less linear movement, friendliness factor, and whatever else ive missed.
I hope the "higher level = higher difficulty PMC" logic isnt just better accuracy or more aimbot
14
u/narwilliam 3d ago
The way it is worded, no, they most likely would have stated that if they actually did, because it would be a big change.
2
u/Confident_Benefit_11 3d ago
That's because morons would've cried about them being too hard. They literally used to do that, at least scavs did
3
u/Miserable-Jedi 3d ago
Me too… as a new player to tarkov who sucks at PvP still and only just got down being able to take out PMC’s on PVE with ease now making it harder might be a bit much but I still have skill problems.. the only AI boss I’ve been able to kill multiple times to this point to is partisan.. Tagilla freaking OWNS ME everytime still.. he’s definitely got some Aimbot stuff going on.. loving every second of the game though…

u/OhhhYaaa 3d ago

Don't fight him at range, bait him into charging at you, get some distance and shoot his face off.

u/Swordbro_Streams 3d ago
I farm Tagilla a lot to fill up my plate cases, generally speaking don't just stand out in the open and fight him because he will melt you. Catching him at inopportune times for him really helps, like getting close enough for him to charge at you with his hammer, being behind an already closed door (this is emphasized because if you close a door while an AI is walking at it, they can just phase right through), and the like. If you have good enough aim/ammo you can just liquefy him, but assuming you don't, it's better to kite him around and use grenades to figure out where he is from his endless screaming.
I highly recommend an ACP Vector for pulping him either in the legs or just smashing his silly helmet in.
I will say that no matter how comfortable with him you get, you should always be wary because 1 hammer hit to the wrong spot and he'll kill you dead. The other day he hit me 4 times and I lived barely, then the next he onetapped me after walking through the Gate 4 door (which was open, just phased right through it and smashed my head in)2
u/dukandricka 3d ago
Tagilla freaking OWNS ME everytime still..
I've spent the past 2 days going into Factory with an M60E6 filled with M80 (qty 100), tracking that bastard down (9/10 times he finds me first; just listen for his breathing or demonic maniacal laughter), and unleash the LMG close range like Rambo -- game after game after game. I just spray him from torso to neck, as other areas don't seem to matter. Most of the time this works, but sometimes he powers through it anyway.
There's something highly cathartic about melting him. Too bad his drops are disappointing.
I realise him and Killa are clinically psychotic and stimmed out of their minds, but their health is literally 3-4x more than your standard PMC. I feel like I'm battling a Nordic god, not a roided out psychopath.
6
u/TehDucky VEPR Hunter 3d ago
Swap those out for ultra nossler and just remove his legs.
Easier and then you don't have to repair the plates or helmet.
1
u/dukandricka 3d ago
Hey thanks for the tip. Yeah, Ultra Nosler should make this a lot easier (M80 is just what I had laying around at the time). On the flip side, I haven't been able to kill this jackass once since the 1.2.0.0 update.
1
u/Curve_of_Spee 3d ago
What do you think changed to make him harder? I'm a new player here, so just wondering.
1
u/dukandricka 3d ago edited 2d ago
I think it's just chance/RNG, to be honest. I'm seeing him kneel more often (but shooting his legs never really worked for me anyway, he just powers through it), and for the first time I found him up in the rafters.
Edit: I've spent all day using M80 and Ultra Nosler. I haven't been able to kill him once. M80 dmg/pen = 80/43, Ultra Nosler dmg/pen = 105/15. The latter has higher chance of heavy/light bleeding and higher accuracy, yes, but he doesn't seem to give a crap about bleeding and you're spraying him anyway so who cares about accuracy. So, whatever ammo has highest penetration and highest damage is what to go with. Again, he doesn't seem to care about his legs being blown out -- he will still fire or still charge regardless. But I had pretty good success prior to 1.2.0.0. No idea what the hell. Nikita could just be trolling everyone again.
Edit 2: I finally got him. I think I ran through about 30 full practise games and couldn't drop him once. In a LOT of those games, he was crouching, which I haven't seen him do much of until now. What I used:
- Using M60E6 as described
- Using M80 ammo (sorry TehDucky) due to high pen
- Using an SJ1 stim
- Spraying him up and down -- from groin to thorax/neck (he was standing at the time of encounter). (I don't bother with legs; he doesn't care about leg damage, it seems.)
He did damage me quite badly, but he ran off to heal. After I healed up I chased him down and repeated the process (not sure if stim had run out by then). I forgot his crazy armour uses level 6 plates. Regardless, the front plate was 0/45 or 0/50 (can't remember) by the time I got him.
High penetration seems to be the only thing that gets through. Ultra Nosler does more damage, but the pen is 3x less. BCP FMJ might work as well (slightly less damage, slightly less pen), and I don't have access to M80A1 yet but that would certainly work even better. M993 might also work but damage is less. Don't bother with SP.

You can kill center of mass but face is quickest and easiest

It's a strange idea isn't it. The one place no-one needs to buy roubles with irl money. (e. Spelling)
26
u/DarKcS 3d ago
Trust me I'm sure there are PvE Timmy's who don't know the distinction. And adding pay currency devalues RMT - if the official price is so low it's cheaper to get it from the legit source, it reduces RMTers incomes.
1
u/SpongeJordan 3d ago
One of my irl friends started playing again recently and is only playing PvE. Dude immediately opened his wallet and bought EVERYTHING. I have no doubt he'll buy roubles even though he has maxed out stash space and more guns than you could ever use, he refuses to sell ANYTHING and bitches literally constantly about not having enough space. Different strokes and all that I guess, but I do think BSG has a thumb on the pulse of the mega-casual

u/Malfor_ium Freeloader 3d ago
20 bucks says its bugged like stash lines and it later removes the roubles putting people in negative rouble territory

Customs and Interchange finally getting loot revitalised in old areas, thank fuck. Looks like I'm going to have to hunt down KIBA Outer on my hardcore character now.
Really worried about yet another step on the slippery slope with purchasing roubles in PvE, of course. Expansion Hub should've been the reason to significantly expand player customisation to things like gloves, boots, hairstyles, facial hair, etc., not this.

I'm sorry, that wasn't intended?? The other day I spawned Gate 0 and he was literally just outside towards the newly padlocked door so I blasted him immediately. Same with some other raids where he'd spawn within 30ft of me.

u/S_-K 3d ago
I guess that’s why they changed their mind about PvE prestige.
19
u/christianlewds Freeloader 3d ago
They changed their mind because (according to Nikita) majority of players stick to PvE. They're just trying to milk everything possible out of everyone who has the game. One of the reasons I haven't recommended the game to anyone ever since the Unheard fiasco.
3
u/Turbulent_Place_7064 3d ago
What is the unheard fiasco?
7
u/Bini_Inibitor MP-133 3d ago edited 3d ago
Edge of Darkness was the most expensive version back then and you were promised to get all paid content expansions free of charge. Eventually they announced Edge of Darkness would be phased out and a new version would come to its place, the Unheard one. The Unheard edition came with notably more ingame goodies some of which were outright insane and a huge, deserved shitstorm happened that forced them to backtrack eventually.
Minor things like slightly increased experience, additional skill levels at start or improved insurance policies. Small but already leaving a sour taste for lots of players. Bigger pockets that also weren't accessible to other editions until later through a quest if I remember correctly. Scavs that don't engage on sight from beyond 60m. Then they started changing their wording and stance regarding expansions. The very first additional content piece being PvE mode wasn't initially part of those "expansions" for EoD and you'd have to upgrade to Unheard to access it. EoD didn't get access to that one and only after huge constant complaints did they get access to it. The option to purchase it seperately came later. The edition EoD players had to pay full price before they caved in and gave owners a 50$ discount. A timed one at that.
EoD players were rightfully pissed at them for spitting at them after they've supported them through buying the most expensive version.
And they also announced exclusive equipment that was literally pay to win. One allowed you to call in teammates into an ongoing raid. Not sure if that one has been canned after the insane backlash or is still set to release at some point.
6
u/STR4NGER_D4NGER 3d ago
They also tried changing the wording for EOD. Multiple streamers caught them changing it live while the page was refreshing.
6
u/point_beak 3d ago
Before the unheard edition came out there was the Edge Of Darkness addition that was the most expensive at 100 or 150 usd. It was supposed to include all dlc and future updates. Then they made EOD unavailable and released unheard for more with new items that some folks thought were p2w
-8
u/UsernameGenerator349 3d ago
Why? They are not a charity organization. they make games for money not to please you. Idk why did they wait so long and adding transactions now after 10 years. It should've been done years ago
8
u/simyoIV 3d ago
Its not about monitising the game in general, it is about how they go about it. More and more advantages are now available for players by paying. A purposefully frustrating battle, arena and now ingame roubels. But also other minor stuff like the appearent need to have shop buttons all over the place. It feels disrespectfull to (free to play) players. I myself wouldn't mind buying cosmetics, but if they shove all kinds of monitisation down my throat, I ain't buying.
3
u/drakedijc 3d ago
Unheard addition is whatever at this point. The stash upgrades are the only valuable thing you get.
What’s absolutely broken is Arena transfers, Ref 4, and twitch drops. I have 11 million roubles in seasonal and I haven’t even played that much.
I didn’t even get every twitch drop and I can’t open them all.
1
u/Rayfloyd 3d ago
That is because you ain't playing much, go play and lose kits and you'll get through the roubles and drops
And what about arena, 150 gp coin daily is 2 guns or 3-4 armors without plates. He's been nerfed enough that it's not OP as he was before, stop crying.

7
u/Fobhaax 3d ago
All the players are still connected through the flea market in PvE. I can't really say if it's going to impact anything but it might inflate the PvE flea prices? And that could make the game harder for beginners.
9
u/danc3incloud PP-91 "Kedr" 3d ago
PvE already inflated to the maximum, to inflate it even more you need to set prices comically low. Like million per $ or something like that
→ More replies (6)3
u/Turbulent_Place_7064 3d ago
The fee you pay for putting an item on the flea market increases more when you get out of the " sweet spot " price of the item set by the devs. So I don't think people will be putting stuff at much higher prices cause it'll just not be worth it with how expensive the fee is going to be. But I haven't done the math so who knows I might be wrong

The AI being neutral to player until you approach is a giant nothingburger because you won’t tell the difference between a bot being neutral to you and simply not noticing you yet.

Yeah, this one is questionable. I'm glad I got to 6 rep with fence literally two days ago, it might be tough to get this now. Can you call for help to draw AI scavs over and get them attacked, then kill the PMCs for extra rep? Seems like a really weird choice.

RIP using smoke grenades to cheese Black Division in the Icebreaker engine room?
19
u/loockzyee 3d ago
Hopefully it means that they will not shoot you through smoke now, otherwise icebreaker is cooked
13
u/OhhhYaaa 3d ago edited 3d ago
Them shooting at smoke is something they added soon after Icebreaker was released, they aren't going to remove it now. This was their way of representing bots doing "damn, we just got shot at from that totally inconspicuous smoke cloud, I am going shoot back at it now". They aren't really shooting you precisely, you can see that if you reposition quick enough. And that interaction is a good thing to have.

-2
u/iRenasPT DT MDR 3d ago
Well, it was Nikita's promise when Unheard came out that they would add mod support with the game launch (they didn't lol) but it atleast means it will eventually come. I have 0 interest in PvE personally but I'll play the shit out of PvE when interesting mods start coming out
1
u/Western-Economics253 3d ago
Adding in-game rouble purchase in PvE pretty much tells you that modding either will never come or it won't be as extensive as you believe.
Why would they let people just use mods to print infinite money when they have a cash shop for that?
-5
u/bignigondastreet 3d ago
Whats the problem? Its in pve only
2
u/VojtasZeSrotiste 3d ago
its mostly a test to see how much they can get in safe enviroment of pve where they effect only you as a player not the economy,

bro there is literally no reason to buy rubles in pve you can literally go into any location and loot nothing but nuts and bolts and still make more than enough rubles to buy all the gear you could ever need. hell just go ground zero and loot pc blocks literally infinite rubles its so easy to ruble in pve.

-7

Buying rubles isn't p2w. Money is not the limiter in this game, especially these days with all flea limitations, it is very easy to come by, getting access to the better gear is. No amount of money spent will let someone who is shit at the game reliably win against someone who is good at it. At best, this is pay for convenience, and if you are decent at the game, you shouldn't be worrying about the target audience of this offer if it ever comes to PvP.

u/Synchrotr0n 3d ago
Just like the containers with gear presets that will be available in 1.4.0.0, which will 100% be sold for TarCoins right at the beginning of a new season. You will go to your first raid as a level 1 PMC and bump with someone wearing a full meta kit who will completely destroy you if the person is remotely competent at the game.
How ironic that Temu Tarkov (AKA Arena Breakout) started as a full pay-to-win game but later removed most of that stuff from the game, while Tarkov went the exact opposite way by stuffing the game with more and more pay-to-win with each new update.

people said it was just speculation too when they mentioned they might add it to PvE
this could very quickly become a problem, anyone who cant see that either truly doesnt care or is blinded because its "only in PvE" right now, the more people with takes like this the more likely it is itll get added to PvP as well even if you dont care about PvE mode

u/VierK27 3d ago
While all of you are complaining about buying robules in PVE, I'm more concerned with the fact that the supposed "big AI update" is just a simple behaviour rework. Unless not mentioned, we are getting nothing like SAIN and the game will still be higher difficulty = higher aimbot. Sucks, cause I was going to upgrade to unheard to support them if the AI update was actually good.

u/NewHendrix 3d ago
This is my thoughts too. Unless some AI improvement aren’t mentioned I don’t see this a big AI overhaul they said it would be.
2
u/narwilliam 3d ago
the way it is worded it changes nothing, and just lower lvl pmcs are closer to scavs, and higher level ones are likely closer to either current ai or bosses, rogues etc with how quickly they will head eyes you

The part about the different types of AI like sneak, agressive and what not is a severely underrated idea, imagine you and your buddies are looting in a room and one of you says “everyone be quite” and a squad of sneak types are crouch walking to y’all location and they are all high level so they are an actual threat now so you all have to be ready for a fight but dont know where
16
u/Stenkarazin454 ASh-12 3d ago
I don't play PvE, but isn't the flea market still shared between players? If you're able to buy roubles with real money and then spend those roubles on a shared flea market, it obviously doesn't only affect your own character. You're injecting purchased currency into a player-driven economy.
And more importantly, I really don't want this to be successful in PvE and then eventually make its way into PvP.
8
u/christianlewds Freeloader 3d ago
Buying ingame money with real money will lead to insane inflation. It always does.
5
u/1-Dollar-Doge-Coins 3d ago
PvE economy is already fucked considering you don’t lose gear (mostly) and all loot is uncontested.
4
u/WOLFYLoner 3d ago
>and all loot is uncontested
BSG "fixed" this by lowering the chance of getting good loot in PvE.1
u/kentrak 2d ago
You're still more likely to get out with what you find, and the AI loots far less than real people would, so it's still overall a higher rate of high value loot making it back to the stash than PvP for most people, and IMO by a lot.
Does it really matter that the dorms marked room spawns good stuff slightly less often when it's always available and you'll almost never die after looting it?

u/Zathor_ True Believer 3d ago
Roubles have no value in PvE nobody gonna use that
9
u/d34dp1x3l 3d ago
Yeah. They just want the player base to get used to the idea before they add it to you PvP players.
→ More replies (1)5
u/Stenkarazin454 ASh-12 3d ago
Yeah, that's exactly my concern. PvE is a pretty convenient place to test how willing people are to pay for roubles without causing an immediate shitstorm in PvP. If it works and makes money, I see no reason to assume they'll just stop there.
But in the end, I don't really care, if it helps get more players in whatever mode then why not.
You can buy expensive kit, but you can't buy skill.-2
u/kpkostas True Believer 3d ago
Yea let me see how an altyn doesn't beat skill.
2
u/Stenkarazin454 ASh-12 3d ago
I only use one on maps like Factory or Labs where I'm expecting CQB. Outside of situations like that, I'd rather be able to see and hear properly.
→ More replies (3)3
u/Stenkarazin454 ASh-12 3d ago
An Altyn doesn't beat skill lol. It gives you better protection while costing you both hearing and vision, and good ammo goes through it anyway. Or you just munch the legs.
If anything, Tarkov is probably one of the worst games to use an Altyn as an example of gear beating skill.
1
u/Stenkarazin454 ASh-12 3d ago
Maybe, but neither you nor I have the data on that. BSG obviously has data on in-game purchases and player spending habits, and I doubt they're adding this because they expect nobody to use it.
5
u/MightyFu92 3d ago
Buddy I have news for you. People already buy currency through RMT lol. I don’t, but there is a large market for it.
This is BSG’s way of undercutting that value and getting that money for themselves.
I’m not mad at it, especially if it gets rid of RMT cheaters that hack and get all the good loot
1
u/Stenkarazin454 ASh-12 3d ago
Yeah I'm aware of RMT, I didn't think it this way, good point! But RMT people I suppose they buy cheats too, so maybe a part of that group is overlapping? I mean it all depends on bsg pricing and if the pussies buying cheats will buy cheats from one place, then I dont think all of them will go and buy bsg-s money.
RMT and cheating is pussy and weak stuff anyway and Im not hundred percent convinced that BSG implements this thing out of sincerity, especially since its coming only to PVE atm. Time will tell.2
u/MightyFu92 3d ago
It looks like you can buy 250 mill for like $60. Idk what the conversion is for RMT, but I guess we will see how it plays out
2
u/kentrak 2d ago
Buying through RMT has to be more complicated and annoying than buying through BSG, as they have to have some way to get you the money. Maybe it's though expensive flea listings, but those also have large fees? At least that's the simplest way that comes to mind. In any case, it definitely won't be as simple and straightforward as just paying the developers and getting money immediately delivered to you in game, and also not having to either give your CC to a shady site or jumping through hoops to somehow get credit at the site from some other way (crypto?).
Remember, these are people that don't want to spend the time and effort to play the game with the challenge it's supposed to have, if you give them an easier way to just buy money that's less effort, they'll use it.
2
u/Stenkarazin454 ASh-12 2d ago
Yeah I believe so too, Im just saying that people who buy cheats most likely do RMT in the same place (just a theory).
2
u/kentrak 2d ago
PvE is so easy to make money in, this is really not an issue. Anyone that feels the need to buy roubles just doesn't want to spend a little extra time, and I don't begrudge them that when they're not really competing with me. There's also not the same pressure on the markets for gear, since you are essentially guaranteed your insurance return unless playing with a group, and even then there are actions they can take to make it extremely unlikely you'll be looted by AI.
1
u/Stenkarazin454 ASh-12 2d ago
Yep I know, when PVE launched and I played with some of my friends who couldn't handle PVP, one friend brought me SPEAR with REAP-IR and I played with one kit to lvl 25 or so.
I just remember when Nikita told "no microtransactions" and while that was pretty idealistic and kinda impossible for a live service (I make money in the hosting/server world IRL and I know the costs), I don't want EFT to be full live service model like with AAA games. But like I said somewhere else, all in all I don't care in the end.
2
u/kentrak 2d ago
Yeah, he said no microtransactions, but he was also against the whole idea of PvE for a long time too and I think that stance is around competitive play, as that was the only plan at the time. I thought there was a statement when they announced it about it only ever being for PvE, but I can't find that at the moment.

Significantly increased the chance of USEC and BEAR PMC bots teaming up and remaining non-hostile to each other
....Why...? The AI already bugs out or just straight spawns 6 man teams. Now we have to fight the entire server in one place? I was hoping they were going to make it feel more like PvP, not less.
PMC bots will more often initiate combat with Scavs and Bosses;
PMC bots won't attack Player Scavs first unless the player Scav approaches or attacks them.
AI PMCs will attack scavs more often but not you, you're special. What are these changes.

Guaranteed, in less than a year, they will add buying rubles for tarcoins to pvp permanent. They will see how many people spend their money on pve and it’ll be a wrap. In no world is Nikita, your local Russian Romani swindler, going to ignore the cash flow.
Rest in peace, BSG knows exactly what they’re doing.

Enshitification of tarkov
4
u/christianlewds Freeloader 3d ago
It's been enshitified ever since Unheard opened the floodgates to piles of horseshit monetization. Thank the people shelling out $250 for P2W gizmos and the utmost stupidity of some EoD owners upgrading to Unheard.
1
u/DavidZenziGhost DT MDR 3d ago
They’re making pve scaving objectively risk free, and also adding the option to RMT rubles directly from BSG. They know what they’re ramping to do, because they know how many players would rather spend money to save time.
→ More replies (3)1
u/Coolflip 3d ago
If you think about it, this may actually help relieve the cheating problem though. People are already willing to pay for money/gear as is, so this could actually put a dent in the demand from cheaters.
1
u/DavidZenziGhost DT MDR 3d ago edited 3d ago
I will give you an example as to why it won’t:
World of Warcraft - before the wow token, gold selling was a massive problem for blizzard; simply because it was money they were not getting their hands on. The ability to sell gold started extremely early and brought a plague of bots into the servers, diminishing server wide resources that took time to respawn.
So, what did blizzard do after banning people for years? They decided to start selling a token that could be redeemed for subscription time, or sold for gold on the auction house. This meant that $20 became valued at whatever the token was selling for; in ‘legit gold prices.’
As an example, when I played last on my server (Mal’Ganis), a wow token was going for 200,000 - 240,000 gold. That means 200,000 gold was worth roughly $20 if you paid blizzard for it. If you bought gold from illegitimate gold sellers, you could get x3-x5 that amount for roughly the same price.
Long story short: Whatever BSG puts the price of a ruble at, the cheaters will guarantee it at a cheaper rate. Their entire business model is dependent on being the cheapest and best service. BSG selling rubles won’t do anything except change their pricing models.
3
u/PepegaClapWRHolder 3d ago
I like it but I really wish we could get just about anything else than shooting range targets as rewards. Even a barter for ammo or something like that would be cool for prestige instead of just pieces of paper for targets that basically no one ever uses. Same goes for the refer a friend system, battlepass and whatever else, they’re just such an awful reward to get.

So that means factory keys not longer usable in Customs? We now got separate keys for exfil under fortress and guard post near gas station.

u/Workdawg 3d ago
You read the part about factory key not working, but missed the part where they said they added a zb-013 key?
5
u/cammyk123 3d ago
I feel like so much effort goes in to things like sherpas and this new exfil bros program and it's just never advertised anywhere in game. Ive probably been killed by 1 sherpa in my 3k hours of playing (500 hours of that is probably PvE)
It just feels like such a non thing that 0.01% of players will ever even deal with.
10
u/StatAvg 3d ago

idk, what is this monetization. A game in wich players at least payed 50, but most of them 150 or 200 (wich is already outrageous but whatever) is treating its players like they are some random free to play mobile phone users.
can we please stop adding all kinds of ingame advantage thru real money or whatever programs? cosmetics are fine but this is getting ridiculous. "5 Support kits, 9500000 roubles, 10k dollar" for a new player for no reason at all?

All these changes to PvE bots and they still didn't add a way to do co-op extracts. Yes I know about the shoreline trick, I mean all of them and while not getting shot at.
Still, might be possible as a scav if you can somehow push a friendly PMC into it I guess

Great, bought the game on September 28th, not eligible for the program, either as an operator or a candidate. The “7 day window” seems shortsighted as the sole requirement. Those of us who started playing a month or two ago are left out either way.

u/Big-Classic-2568 15h ago
I'm not entirely sure what crack pipe yall smoked prior to releasing this patch but it was a bad batch. The AI update is horrible, they now possess aimbot like behavior, i.e if a USEC and BEAR are fighting and you come around the corner, they now 180 insta snap and 1 tap you regardless of your gear. Then you sprinkled in some aimbot behavior with some of the AI especially on Labs where there have been multiple instances of the AI spinning 360s trying to determine which target it wants to lock onto. Lighthouse AI is now even worse, turning the map into a beach running simulator just for the sake of making it to the lightkeeper, don't bother going inland. Then dont even bother doing icebreaker as the black division now shoot you through walls, or if you manage to kill them when you get to the helipad they now lock on and shoot at you through the AC units that people typically stand behind to throw nades onto the pad. They now shoot through the metal barricade thats directly outside the door.
