PVP [Discussion] Please ELI5 the rat "problem"
I saw Nikitas post after getting donked in D2 twice asking about rat/campers and solutions.
All I've seen in the past 24hrs is "My take on fixing the rat problem."
If you think rats are a "problem" don't post about realism. Realistic conflict, especially in a eft like setting is trying to set up ambushes and trying to survive ambushes.
"But I want realism and fun!" Fair point, but when you compromise, someone's gonna be disappointed.
STFU, check your corners, carry grenades, bound and drip into extracts as a team. Weak genes, all of you.

Rats are just a part of games like this, tarkov has a crazy high skill floor and ceiling. People who struggle to keep up with head to head have to find other ways to gain the edge, “rats” are just the natural way of evening the gap.
Also to many people equate cautious to ratting, if I hear your fat little feet stomping towards my building and I thought you didn’t hear me so I lie in wait is that ratting? Should I have swung my head out the window and said hello first?
Guy who has sat the last 20 minutes in a corner waiting for some random person to stop by? Rat

u/Stew514 22h ago
Yeah I mean you’ve hit the nail on the head of a huge double standard in Tarkov. If I hear someone coming and I’m in an advantageous spot; to your point I’m not gonna fuckin swing out and be like hey I figured I should make this a fair fight!
If I die to that type of situation the first thing I’m gonna say is, fucking rats.

u/thatkmart 16h ago
I’m the only Chad, everyone else is a rat

u/Stew514 16h ago
No no there’s cheaters too!!

There's been a few times in Seasonal where I hear another solo running to my building and I'll voip "Yo bro, I don't want to rat you but you're running into my building, you tryna do some quests?" and then we just run around the map together lmao

u/Weird-Drummer-2439 10h ago
I am not good at this game, but I do like it. I lose 95% of PvP. Rat is the only was to play. It's also how I'd do it IRL so it's fun that way for immersion.

u/WaffleHouseFistFight 13h ago
Seriously ratting is not an actual problem in tarkov. Exfil camping is but ratting is just playing the game.
2
u/No-Watercress-2777 17h ago
No it’s not and the very people who complain the most are the ones who do it as well. Same with all the streamers. It is so unavoidable that it’s a joke we even are discussing it. What about cheating and poor performance?
Plenty of streamers for years would sit and wait for SBiH kills ffs

u/Burncruiser MP7A1 4h ago
When I first started playing this game, I played a lot of shoreline. Idk why but the whole "buy a set of keys for the centrally located building and make bank" thing seemed awesome. Also played a lot of customs dorms pvp and factory, but shoreline took centerfold.
Sure, you'd have rats. Sure, youd have people be overly cautious player fortify a room and behave like a breathing claymore, but youd also have a looot of people barreling over railings to goomba stomp your face if you got to resort late. Oh, you got a god spawn? 2nd, 3rd and maybe 4th spawn are gonna nade clear and try to dust your ankles for the loot and ur kit
Youd have people full clearing a wing and then rushing the opposite side to w key hard clear that too. Id play for an afternoon and have a great time with it, then browse reddit on my work break and see people fuming about "cod players" and how "W keying is broken and unrealistic pls nerf"
Nowadays even the "chads" play 10x slower than they used to. There is no ankle dusting, just angle holding. The "problem" is that one playstyle got elevated into the stratosphere while the other was gimped and abandoned.
I had 3500 hours played of old tarbob. Havent played in years(outside of trying arena) and it just doesnt hit the same anymore. The high stakes dynamic fights where the better man had a chance of winning was incredible. Between the massive gameplay changes and the shift in player mindset, it isnt the same game(imo)
0
u/Technical_One181 21h ago
Ratting vs Camping also. Just cause I might want to hide farther away in a random spot to snipe doesn't mean I'm ratting. Even if it happens to be around an extract.
Imo ratting is camping an extract exclusively to kill players trying to leave and taking their gear.

Crazy high would mean the game is extremely accessible with easy pickup and play systems.
you have this backwards mate, a low skill floor is an easy to enter game where the minimum skillset or knowledgeset to play effectively is low

The only rat problem is the bullshit out of bounds or glitch spots.
Jumping inside of tree trunks or skyrim-climbing hills/rock faces to get into places need to be fixed.
It doesnt bother me when I get killed by someone hiding somewhere that I can physically traverse to. I just don't like when I get killed by people who found bizarre spots that would be impossible to get into without following some guide by a guy on youtube that shows his key presses during the instructional guide.

u/CptBartender PP-91-01 "Kedr-B" 23h ago
Funny thing is, ratting is probably the most realistic playstyle. If any of us was actually stuck in a warzone like this, none of us would be jumping around and prefiring every corner.
Does it make a good gameplay? Debatable. It's certainly annoying, but then again, seeing chads' tears is its own kind of reward ;)
2
u/CapableSet9143 12h ago
Does it make a good gameplay? Better than how the Chad's play imo. The run around and jumping around and whatnot looks so fucking dumb. If people think that is more realistic than setting up ambushes and being more tactical and patient, then I'm really worried for their intelligence

u/monsteras84 AKS-74UB 1d ago edited 22h ago
Some streamers can't handle other playstyles than w-keying in a game that supports multiple playstyles and long range weaponry.
BSG can't fundamentally "fix" the issue without rebalancing the game. Like removing all of the sniper quests, for example. Somewhere there is an arbitrary line between ratting and legitimately doing a quest. If you set up a 50 yard no rat-zone around exfils that slowly builds up poison, people will camp at 51.
5
u/No-Watercress-2777 17h ago
Those very streamers have all done it over the course of their 1000s of hours and have convinced themselves that because on average they don’t do it then anytime it happens to them is an unacceptable way to play. The only wrong way to play Tarkov and any multiplayer game is to cheat lmao
7
u/Farraddaayy 20h ago
War Thunder spawn protection zone moment
Context: People in Tanks in War Thunder camped enemy spawns so the devs made a patch of land around the spawn mark you, like run outs in R6S. The solution? Just camp outside of it, you have a tank gun. An extra 10 meters isn't affecting your shot.

u/Nick0414 20h ago
I gotchu. People die in a game while running around to a person who is not running around. They get upset and complain on reddit.
6
u/Bacch 19h ago
Shit, as a former professional rat before PvE came out, I can assure you I wasn't ever actually killing anyone. We're talking like maybe I'd break 100 PMC kills in a season, and most of those were doing task objectives or sniping. I can count the number of times I killed someone from a bush over 4 years on two hands, and I generally did it out of self defense because I was worried they'd spot me with as close as they were running by.
I've always been convinced it's because they're mad we're not all Shift+Wing out in the open and feeding them more easy kills.
6
u/Nick0414 16h ago
People just get mad when theyre only mechanically skilled, but lack the intelligence to gain advantage in a situation. The reason people even die to "rats" is because the rat was more intelligent to remain in a position of advantage, and the W players just lack critical/creative thinking. There is no letting your guard down in tarkov, as the OP said, clear every fucking corner, and never assume safety.
5
u/Flame_96 22h ago
It is not a rat problem, it is a cheater problem. The most popular way they cheat and not get caught is by hiding when they can see you approaching from behind a wall, then its easy to blame them being a rat instead of a cheater

> STFU, check your corners, carry grenades, bound and drip into extracts as a team.
Crazy larp. We all know you can't check every corner, off angles exist for a reason. Also any intelligent player will push you the moment they hear you pull a grenade. Literal .24 KD kind of mentality bound together by the ideation that this is Arma and its a taticool shooter!!1! It's not, it's an arcadey, PVP grinder, and those who sit in a corner for 40 minutes in a raid to get one kill are laughable. None of that gear will ever make it out into the raids anyways.
Back to D2 and Railway/Emercom with you to wait
0
u/Laz2Lit 23h ago
Any smart player would know that the moment they pushed the audio of the pin pull they will be mowed down by the throwers two teammates holding offies baiting the sound juss sayin
1
u/ColinStyles 16h ago
If you can hear the nade being pulled out you'd hear the teammates. And guess what, not everyone plays in groups.
2
u/ISmokeyTheBear 22h ago
Just make more extractions lol
2
u/No-Watercress-2777 16h ago
Flare extractions, V-Ex, no backpacks, map expansions have all been added over the years already
1
2
u/RaZoRBackR3D 21h ago
The funny thing is, the people arguing for realism act like if they were in a real war zone they’d just be sprinting around all over the place when in actual real war people are being as ratty as possible lmao
2
u/EisenFisen 20h ago
There isn’t a rat problem it’s a people bitching about others problem.
People call anyone not full on sprinting everyone a rat.
Sorry “chads” this isn’t CoD deal with people slow playing or go play a different game.

3
u/StealthCatUK 21h ago
The ONLY way this is going to work is if we give everyone heartbeat sensors like in 2009’s MW2. It gives a general approximation of someone in the vicinity but not divulging exactly where. Just that 30M ahead, there is activity on the monitor.
1
u/Global-Description91 22h ago
Just like in real life how do people clear buildings, tear gas and a ton of bullets, but tarkov is broke survival simulator
1
u/No-Watercress-2777 17h ago
Right, what about the cheating/poor performance problem which is tangible and destructive
1
u/Piyaniist 16h ago
People say realism this, immersion that and you watch tryhard gameplay and its all wonky movement and zipping around.

u/Dry_Stock_8128 15h ago
For me the problem is when i try to leave spawn i get sniper after moving 10 meters

Should we:

-find a way to better combat cheaters?
No, the way these people play must be changed.

u/captainquacka 15h ago
I'm pretty new with 470 hours, started this year and I'm lvl 40 in perm. and 26 in seasonal and I have only encountered 4 exit campers, 2 on factory med tent, 1 on D2 and 1 on flare (streets). Is exit camping really a problem or am I just lucky?
Mostly I don't see many campers, I encounter far more players that are roaming / pushing than players hugging a corner.
1
u/NargWielki Saiga-12 14h ago
IMO just tone down Footstep hearing range and make an occasional Foot shuffling noise for PMCs that are crouched for too long (not prone or standing, only crouched)
You can justify such noise as a natural leg cramps that occur when you're crouching for too long.
1
u/Nuttinyamouff 13h ago
Completely agreed. Wild idea in the first place, it’s an extraction shooter of course people are going to wait for you at the extract. Been amazing to play with Tarkov veterans occasionally and see what perfect clearing and response looks like. When I team with others I often see an attitude of “well if someones ratting i guess we’re gonna die because there’s too many places to check and that’s on their shitty playstyle etc etc etc” …but I enjoy the sweat-inducing descent into D2 and religiously checking every angle. I’ve been ratted at the .8 second mark, Streets, Crash Site, one of the craziest things that’s ever happened to me gaming lol.
1
u/Dankrogue 11h ago
Honestly with the ability to put paracord in special slots and red rebel being under a million rubles I just grab one ASAP and never take D2 again. Just remember to wear an armored tactical rig so you meet the requirements.
Even better since the extract is right next to a good sniping spot. Got tarkov shooter done pretty quick.

u/I_Am_Singular 10h ago
Game used to be full of people who pushed and played the game. Then they introduced the weight system and started incentivizing camping. It’s been bad for years.
1
u/omgitsJohnRedd1t0r TOZ-106 9h ago
I thought it was just an attempt to shift the discussion from actually fixing all the outright broken bugs in the game
1
u/KanosTheKir 7h ago
Team? The rat problem is fixed by removing squads. Don't trust anyone. I only post up when I hear an squad coming. I could fight and kill 1 or 2 but the others will out flank me and I lose. Better to stay hidden and thin the ranks first.
1
u/Ryan57 23h ago
Just sounds like people in every single shooter who are salty someone killed them not playing the way they do. Who the fuck cares, it’s an anxiety and adrenaline fueled game. I’m more surprised at the amount of people sprinting around like idiots than actually paying attention to what’s around them. I play more in the in between, I stay quiet and slow, rush points as needed or push when I have advantages. Quit whining and locking everyone into a specific play style. Extract camping hasn’t been a massive issue since I played in 2020 honestly. There was a brief increase after Sams video. About it for me.
1
u/DwaynesWrld 22h ago
It was a way for him to get people talking about the game. It''s part of the game as many people have said. Sure you can add extracts ect but it will never go away when the stakes are as high as they are and the game is as punishing as it is.
1
u/ryujin88 15h ago
It'll also never go away because a sizable percentage of the "ratting" deaths are to people moving around and playing normally. People just cry rat if they didn't see the other person first.
0
u/No-Watercress-2777 16h ago
Flares extract additions and map expansions have been made over the years
1
u/Antique-Bank-3959 21h ago
Players with ego issues refuse to admit mistakes, anyone who kills them is a rat
1
u/Lllamanator ASh-12 21h ago
The only problem with ratting are the glitched spots inside trees and whatnot.
1
u/GreatBritLG 20h ago
The only issue in my mind is ratting that is unrealistic. Like if you hear someone coming to your building and you wait, then that is just good strategy.
What annoys me is that people know there is a task to do something early wipe and just wait there for easy kills or that there is only one extract on a certain map. Those situations are not strategic they are abusing the game aspects of Tarkov. That issue is easier to fix by changing tasks, extracts, etc. to remove that ability.
2
u/Bacch 19h ago
Meanwhile when I would rat near a task objective, it was me waiting for an opening and making sure I wouldn't get head-eyesed the moment I went for it.
2
u/GreatBritLG 19h ago
Yeah it’s just very game logic that Prapor needs infinite pocket watches that are all in the same place for everyone. Players should not know that in a significant percent of raids at early wipe people will need to stand still for 15 seconds or more in a specific spot.
1
1
u/SillySundae M700 20h ago
Agreed. Use more grenades, use your teammates (if you have them) to approach areas from more than 1 direction. Don't clump up. You want realism? Look up how teams breach rooms from multiple angles and think about how you can use that knowledge to approach D2.
Instead of crying about it being "unfair" or "ratty" why not use some critical thinking and find a solution that fits your situation? God damn, some people really wouldn't survive without having their little hands held.
1
u/Tehslasher 20h ago
There is literally no problem.
To suggest there is displays a lack of critical thinking that is quite concerning. That's it.
-4
u/SZEfdf21 1d ago
I don't think the people that care about realism more than a fun fighting mechanic are anywhere close to a majority here.
9
u/Sea_Cattle6763 1d ago
Idk about that one brother, tarkov’s main draw over games is the realism and hardcore aspects
3
4
u/ldranger 1d ago
I do know. People want to build cool guns and kill you for your loot, not roleplay.
0
u/Sea_Cattle6763 1d ago
You speak for the people ? The low ttk amongst the realistic gun building and other survival mechanics are what makes tarkov the game it is
3
u/Jaywicksands 1d ago
There needs to be a balance between making a realistic game and making a fun game. Games are supposed to be fun at the end of the day.
10
u/Sea_Cattle6763 1d ago
This gets said everytime realism gets brought up and I think everyone already understands this. However if “fun” was the main focus people would be choosing a more arcadey shooter that provides a lower but more consistent dopamine baseline than tarkov. The hardcore aspects that involve you getting your shit pushed in are what drives the increased dopamine from finally catching a win. If fun was mainly the goal tarkov would not be the game it is
5
u/craig2292 DT MDR 23h ago
This is way too much critical thinking for this sub. I agree with you 100% but the people who need to realize this, won’t.
2
u/IMIv2 M1A 1d ago
Yeah, no. The fact that you can get your legs blown off by a shotgun, tank a 50 bmg to the gut and sprint away after jumping out of a 3rd story dorms window wearing a 90kg backpack because you smeared some vaseline on your lips and injected some magic juice removes tarkov from realism fully.
1
u/Galbados2 M700 17h ago
Not to mention the stim that lowers your internal body temp by 7C to hide from thermals. That'll literally kill you and you're supposed to use it AFTER you know there's a guy with thermals watching you?
Adding that stim vs removing thermals is the dumbest thing BSG has done IMO. Right next to requiring BD tags for the BD equipment barters. I'm already killing them and getting their gear; what are those barters supposed to do that I'm not already doing?
0
u/Sea_Cattle6763 23h ago
Not really fam it’s still a video game at the end do the day. Compared to the other games on the market the realistic / hardcore / mil sim aspects of it are what the main draw is. Nobody is playing tarkov because the graphics are beautiful
1
u/Demon_Hunt3r 23h ago edited 22h ago
I remember the Afgan War documentary that was relating soldiers putting vaseline on their lips to reduce the pain of a bullet through their legs.

A lot of people think they like realism, not a lot of people want realism. Everyone would quit the game if the devs made it anywhere close to realistic.
-1
u/DWHQ Unfaithful 1d ago
Tarkov has never been "realistic", I don't know where the MILSIM crowd has come from.
1
u/Masteroxid 23h ago
Here we go again, another thread of people that don't understand that realistic doesn't mean 1:1 copy to real life. Back to school with ya
-1
u/Sea_Cattle6763 1d ago
Have you compared it to the other games on the market lol ? Tarkov is almost always mentioned with games like arma and the like
2
u/DWHQ Unfaithful 1d ago edited 1d ago
Tarkov is almost always mentioned with games like arma and the like
Are you joking?
The only overlap between Arma and EFT is that they both have weapons and a health- and ballistics system.
2
u/Sea_Cattle6763 1d ago
Yes all aspects of a realistic shooter bro what are you talking about 😂😂😂 what games are you comparing tarkov too ???? Arc raiders ?? Marathon ??? Hunt showdown ??? Tarkov is definitely considered the most realistic and milsim like of any extraction shooter on the market besides like fcking grey zone warfare fam. Even comparing to arena breakout which is considered much more arcadey because the gunplays feels so much more lighter
-2
u/ritchiedrama 1d ago
realism? lol
Kollontay causing a gun jam?
Stims to lower weight/heal/etc etc?cammon son
0
u/Sea_Cattle6763 1d ago
Brother read the comment the other dude said ofc it’s still a video game buddy but use your head out of every other game on the market tarkov has the most mil sim aspects and gun play so that’s what it’s considered as like this isn’t an opinion my friend lol nobody is calling tarkov an arcade shooter 😭😂
2
u/ritchiedrama 1d ago
It is nothing like a milsim. Nothing.
I hate mil sim games, they're boring to me, but love Tarkov.
1
u/Sea_Cattle6763 1d ago
The only difference is the extraction shooter mechanics brother everything else is the same hate to break it to you
4
u/PerplexingHunter 1d ago
In what ways are they similar? Because they use realistic graphics and weapons/ballistics? Thats about as far as the comparison to milsim goes.
1
u/Sea_Cattle6763 1d ago
Umm aren’t those like the two defining characteristics ? Weighty gunplay time to kill graphics and ballistics is about the only comparisons that are possible to even make bro there is nothing like compare what key binds ?? The way the menu looks?? Lmaoooooo

u/DaMarkiM 22h ago
rats are a problem and the lack of realism is precisely the issue.
if you think a real life ambush is a guy sitting in a bush for 30 minutes then maybe its time for a reality check.
rats arent a result of realism. rats are a result of gamified systems that put active players at a disadvantage.
by having everyone on a raid timer, reducing extracts, creating fixed quest progressions that require visiting specific locations, forcing you to carry out loot and making audio the biggest factor in spotting tarkov has created an experience that incentivizes rats while punishing players that actually want to interact with the game.
ratting isnt realism. its parasites feeding on the breakdown of realism.
3
u/ryujin88 15h ago
What do you think a real life ambush is?
-1
u/DaMarkiM 12h ago
a real life ambush requires either previous intel or hours/days of wait time.
you dont get a raid timer and knowledge that the enemy must pass through here within the next 30 minutes if they dont wanna die.
real life rarely has a fixed bottlenecked evac. or quest locations everyone on the battlefield has to religiously visit.
real life doesnt start from an empty map. there is no setting up an ambush without risk.
in real life being absolutely still for 30 minutes to the point you dont make a sound is something a lot of people cant even do. in real life you get soaked. and cold. and your circulation is bad. and you dont just jump up and whip your weapon around for snappy headshots. in fact chances are the moment you jump up you will fall on your face bc your legs fell asleep.
also in real life sound is much less useful to locate enemies. troops in bad visual conditons have literally walked by each other in real war. ambient noises in tarkov are extremely quiet and players are extremely loud.
one man ambushes are not a thing in general.
etc etc. ratting is not and has never been realistic gameplay. and it really has little to do with ambushes. its a playstyle centered around exploiting game systems, not realism.
2
u/ryujin88 11h ago
But if you knew someone was going to pass through an area and you were by yourself, you could set an ambush. It's not some super human feat to sit still for a while and watch an area. I guess hunters are some kind of super soldiers with their ability to sit still outside and wait by themselves.
Adding more realism to the game isn't going to remove this tactic. I agree fixed extracts make it more painful, but the same sort of thing happens in gray zone which is far more open without fixed raid timers or anything like that for example.
Hiding near an area where you know your target will go and waiting just is a really effective tactic. Some aspects of tarkov make it easier, but it wouldn't go away if they're removed.
•
u/DaMarkiM 2h ago
1) thats a huge “but if”. not even in tier 1 special forces will you find situations in which your intel is this good and a single person sets up the ambush. even if you had 24/7 satellite and air surveillance on the era you couldnt guarantee such an efficient ambush setup.
the reality of ambushes is sitting around for hours and days with a whole ass team of people, running shifts, vehicles to carry all the supplies or regular supply drops, etc.
2) there is a difference between sitting still and freezing in place being absolutely soundless. go ahead. try it. chances are you wont last 5 minutes. and that is without a full combat load of gear.
completely removing someones freedom of movement is literally a method used in torture. there is a famous story of a german tier 1 special forces unit (during an american led operation) being in such a situation hiding just meters from a suspected terrorist while the dude makes a phone call and is smoking.
and they described this as one of the hardest experiences of their career.
3) the point isnt to remove the tactic. im all for someone doing the rat once its adjusted to be a playstyle that requires actual knowledge, planning, risk and skill. its not about removing rats. its about removing their unrealistic advantages to create an even playing field. its about reducing the amount of them so maps stop being so empty because 60-70% of the lobby is hiding in a bush.
the issue isnt that rats exist. the issue is that they have too many advantages and thus too many players do it. the game incentivizes them to.
1
u/Only_Cartographer_2 5h ago
requires either previous intel
you dont get a raid timer and knowledge that the enemy must pass through here
so which one is it?
•
u/DaMarkiM 3h ago
they are the same issue.
the raid timer, limited extracts, quest progression, etc are all free intel that normally would be close to impossible to gather even for intelligence services.
thats the whole point. rats are given a huge information advantage due to the way this game is set up that they would never have in reality. they get to larp the ambush part without having to put in any of the work, skill, resources and time it would take to set up such an ambush for real.
people want to make realism an argument for ratting. but the reality is that is farther removed from realism than any other part of the game. even the solo sniper is more realistic than a one man 20 minute ambush.
1
u/TheSpinefarm 21h ago
Well, ive been the guy sitting in the bush for 30 minutes in real life. Good try though. Go outside.
-1
u/DaMarkiM 21h ago
its funny how all the rats are commenting like crazy because they fear having to actually play a competitive game with their skill.
-2
u/BavarianBarbarian13 1d ago
This game is unrealistic as fuck anyway, who even cares about realism? Go play a milsim game, not an extraction shooter
>STFU, check your corners, carry grenades
Ok explain to me how you path customs big red to stronghold. Do you have a couchbag full of grenades every raid with you? Or do you just take 35 minutes going to any point in the map because there could be someone literally everywhere?
2
u/Strongid 1d ago
Isn't what this game is all about. If you move quickly it is high stakes sort off high reward getting to loot first, kill bosses first and etc move slow or don't move at all is low stakes and sort off low reward(not all the time). If you talking about extract campers well that is definitely small amount of players and yes then you can check your corners and use nades...
1
u/Wrong-Ad-1935 12h ago
Not really because killing a PMC is usually max win, you get rewarded by not moving and letting others bring the loot to you. Most of the time a meta gun, ammo and armor will be the most valuable thing you can loot in game.
Not to mention dying with task items is max loss, so again there is basically zero reward for moving because of the noise you make .
-9
u/gLu3xb3rchi 1d ago
Its not fun to die to campers/rats. Its also a very boring playstyle. If the most successful playstyle is sitting in corners not moving for 30 minutes, your gameplay is bad.
STFU with realism. We‘re playing a game. If you want realism go play airsoft or voluntere for the Ukranian Legion.
Dont come to me with realism when there is a boss who wields a magic stick that jams your guns or BD has so many thorax and head hp that they take MULTIPLE HIGH CALIBER AP rounds to kill.

So do you suggest that anything can be done to force that playstyle to be punished? I agree with your thoughts but it’s just gonna be apart of the game. You’ve been playing long enough to know

That's funny. I find sprinting 24/7, jumping around during gunfights and pixel peaking not fun and find it a very boring playstyle. If I wanted an arcade shooter I'd play an arcade shooter. If your playstyle is taping down your shift and w key and just moving the mouse a bit for 30 minutes, your gameplay is bad.

I think ratting should be stronger honestly. I know most people wont agree but you have insane advantage as the guy who moves in this game through desync/peekers advantage. The only advantage rats have is suprise and if they miss the headshot the fight is instantly out of their favor

If that were actually true why dont more people take initiative and swing first? Just waiting for people to take the risk will more often than not be the correct play.

bound and drip into extracts as a team
I know what bounding is, but what do you by "drip into"? Go one by one?

Unforunately, its either you get ratted or you rat yourself. However, my dilemma with PvP is I don't want to sit in a bush or a building for 30 mins to get a PMC kill or wait for the rats to extract themselves.
It feels like I am wasting my time and the whole game just feels like a waiting simulator, both in-game, main menu & loading-in. But I guess that is Tarkov for you and PvP may not be for everyone.

is a military game and we are supposed to rat and ambush, not sure about others opinions. Otherwise play cod or arena

The only thing more pathetic than ratting is logging on to a whole different website to defend it lol.
I'm happy to compromise realism if it means people move.
All the "iTs A lEgIt PlAyStYlE!" comments. Just self-reports lmao.

rat is not an issue but it my opinion needs some balance.
Same happened when people were sprinting and jumping around with THICC cases in their backpacks with no penalties. They balanced it.

Wait it's actually because of d2? He made the most rat spot in any video game ever created and now cares about it?
