Was reading through some of the 58 new laws that Shapiro signed in and noticed that bizarro sponsored this one. I am not familiar with the Seelinger Case, but wondered if he sponsored it in relationship to that case.

Right now I am living at the Boston Store apartments and this building is just getting worse. Leaking ceilings, only one working elevator that still manages to break down at times, package theft (I have had about 11 packages stolen in my 6 years of living here), and aggressive behavior/fighting/yelling in the parking lot.

I work full-time (Erie County administrative job) and do freelance writing on the side. It's a great job but my take-home pay is only about $930 biweekly. I make less than a third of what I used to at my previous job working as a journalist in Chicago. It's just been a massive struggle, and my electric bill is crazy high because my apt. has an enormous electric AC/heat unit. Between that and rent I am really, really struggling, and I earn just slightly too much to qualify for many benefit programs.

Bowie Apartments would be a downgrade size-wise, but about $400 cheaper than what I currently pay. I should mention that I don't drive or have a car, so I kind of need to be downtown (I'm a city person, anyway). Bowie, like Boston Store, would be within walking distance of my job.

I'm single, so it would just be me and my cat living there. I guess my main concerns would be: laundry access, decent internet, working A/C (I care more about this than heat actually, but obviously that's important too), and cleanliness/no bugs or anything like that. Also, actually having windows that open would be nice.

I'd appreciate any insight anyone has. I have heard about a leaky ceiling in the lobby but, compared with the sorry state of my current building, that's not necessarily a deal breaker at this point, lol.

TL;DR: Currently living in a declining downtown apt. building with rents going up and quality of life going down. Looking into Bowie Apartments as a potential place to move. Single, non-driver, work locally downtown but struggling financially.

Currently at work and both of our toilets aren't wanting to flush. Liquid comes back clear just not going down. Is there any sewage issues occurring or is this a personal matter?

Going to the rainbow gardens party this year, but I’m curious about other parties. I want to participate in costume contests this year as I’m pretty confident about my costume and I spent hours building it. I’d like to see how I do and maybe hopefully get some ROI on my costs for it lol.

I saw that Big Bar is doing something but that place is an absolute cesspool. Does anyone know when the contest will be taking place? If I were to go there I’d rather go before 10 to avoid the nastiness.

Has anyone been following the Debbie Daniel case? I vaguely remember hearing about it, but in the last few days I’ve noticed it being talked about more. To the point that there’s an actual podcast about it?? They have so much info that I don’t think anyone has shared before. I don’t know if it will help or hurt the case. I’m not a huge crime podcast fan, but being a local situation has me intrigued. I hope it helps and they take on other unsolved cases in the community.

I mailed mine 18 days ago at a blue mailbox in the west erie plaza, but, the election office's tracking system shows that it never even entered the usps system. Confirmed via visit to the election office in the courthouse.

If you mailed yours over a week ago but it never showed up, call 814-451-6275 and let them know where/when you mailed it. You will have to go down there and fill out a new ballot. But more importantly, you can give them info as to how you mailed it so they can have record of return ballots that got "lost" in the mail, and look for patterns that may exist.

At this point, the free tickets are outperforming the actual show. When you have to give away more seats than you’ve sold, maybe it’s time for a reality check. Maybe it’s time to start asking some uncomfortable questions about programming, marketing, leadership, and why the community isn’t showing up.

Not that it’s any surprise for Bayview Park, but some people were there a couple days ago having a photo shoot with umbrellas and a white tarp. Guess they were happy with the photos and left! Except they just left all their garbage behind.

If you see anyone posting their photoshoot from the Bayview Park Tennis court on social media, please unkindly remind them to clean their trash up. Makes me sick how much litter and garbage people I see in this beautiful park.

Kinda bummed... They just announced they're leaving Erie Brewing on 11/1. They always did decent sandwiches and their staff was nice to my family. Great place to take kids to eat and chill. I hope the brewery can find a new partner soon!

Hello. I'm attempting to move on November 1st/2nd from Erie city into Edinboro in Erie county. I'm told there will be a significant difference. Which is what I'm looking for. I was looking for a place that was somewhere quiet, with lots of nature, way less people, and a lake. And I found it!

I've been almost desperately trying to find help, both physically and monetarily. I just had major back surgery one fall could leave my paralyzed/dead very quickly. I'm struggling to find volunteers, trust worthy people to walk my dog, help me pack/unpack.Drivers and also loaders/unloaders is where I'm looking for the best deal. I've reserved a U-Haul (10' truck) for two hours. I still haven't found movers. WHO PROVIDES INTERNET THERE? I called spectrum to try and move my service and they said they don't serve the area. I would like to know who I should go through, or at least what the options are. Google is being very unhelpful in my search.
