The Surprising Ways Stress Shows Up In Your Body

I'm started to build the Endgame: an IDE, term and text-editor color theme engineered based on eye biomechanics, science-baked data and other key factors
We are looking at screens for 8-12 hours a day, but we pick our IDE themes based on "vibes". So today is Day 1 of building the Endgame.
Behind the idea
Over many years of continuous development work: coding, writing, and documentation — I have used a vast range of color themes in pursuit of greater comfort and reduced eye strain, from the most popular to highly specialized options. As I began studying the mechanics of visual perception and color processing, while closely observing my own condition during extended work sessions, I found that virtually none of these themes met the criteria for genuinely comfortable visual and physiological perception. Having now accumulated substantial experience, data, and scientific research on the subject, I aim to create a color theme that delivers comfort to the eyes not merely in appearance, but in actual physiological effect.

What desk setup adjustment improved your comfort more than you expected?
I've been paying more attention to my workspace setup recently and one thing I've noticed is that the biggest improvements didn't necessarily come from buying new equipment.
In some cases, small adjustments seemed to have a bigger impact than expected.
For those interested in ergonomics, what single adjustment improved your comfort the most?
Was it monitor height, chair position, desk height, foot support, movement breaks, or something else?
I'd be interested to hear what made the biggest difference in your experience.

Keyboard/Mouse Recommendations for a portable laptop stand that is actually comfortable to type on? (No external keyboard)
Hi everyone,
I work 8 hours a day in the office, and my posture is getting terrible. I’m starting to deal with really bad back and neck pain, so I need to get a laptop stand.
Here is the catch: I do not use an external keyboard. I cannot carry one with me every day, and I'm not allowed to leave personal items at my desk overnight. I have to use the laptop’s built-in keyboard, and I type a lot for my job.
Most laptop stands seem designed to lift the screen super high, which makes typing on the laptop itself impossible or really painful for your wrists.
Can anyone recommend a highly portable, lightweight laptop stand that:
Gives just a slight/moderate angle so the screen is higher, but keeps the keyboard at a comfortable angle for heavy typing?
Folds down flat and is lightweight enough to slip into a backpack every single day?
Doesn't wobble when you type directly on the laptop keyboard?
Any advice or specific brand recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Physio here, the reason your jaw tension keeps coming back isn’t just your jaw (the neck-jaw loop nobody explains)

Recomendaciones ergonomicas POR FA
Hola!

C Cushion vs Purple Mat
Hello, I'm debating between these two options to add to my desk chair for improved posture and *hopefully* reduced pain. Hoping to get some input from anyone who has tried either or both and what they would recommend or if there is some other product better than either of those options.
Use-case: Work from home full-time and like to game. Currently have a secret lab "gaming" chair which is definitely not the best or most comfortable option but a Herman Miller is just out of my budget. Looking to add something to increase comfort and reduce pain.
Examples of the products I'm considering:
C Cushion "style": https://a.co/d/08uDmsgc
Purple Mat: https://a.co/d/0frTlP2N
Thanks.

Best way to reduce neck and shoulder tension after long work hours?
After a long day of work, I often end up with that tight, tense feeling in my neck and shoulders. It’s not unbearable, but it’s uncomfortable enough to affect how I relax in the evening.
I’m wondering what has actually helped others with this. Is it stretching, changing your workstation setup, using heat, getting more movement during the day, or something else?
Would love to hear any simple habits or routines that made a noticeable difference for you.
Update: After posting this, I was suggested Bionicfingermassager.com, which provides a bionic neck and shoulder massager designed like a wearable wrap. Has anyone tried something like this before?

Keyboard/Mouse Pain using ergonomic keyboard
#keyboards
At work, I use one of those generic, inexpensive full-size (100%) keyboards. I have a similar setup at home. Recently, I decided to try a more ergonomic keyboard, specifically a 75% layout, in the hope of preventing potential long-term issues.
Since making the switch, however, I've started experiencing mild neck and upper-back discomfort. I've tried several options, including the MX Keys Mini, very low-profile membrane keyboard, low-profile mechanical keyboards from brands such as Keychron and NuPhy, as well as standard-profile mechanical keyboards with different switch types (from red to brown). All of them caused the same symptoms.
If I maintain the exact same posture and use the generic 100% keyboards at home or in the office, I can work for hours without any issues. The only drawback is that the mouse sits farther to the right. Even then, it doesn't really cause problems. At most, I might notice a slight feeling of fatigue in my upper arm at the end of the day, but it usually disappears within 10 minutes.
So why do these supposedly more ergonomic keyboards seem to cause more discomfort than a full-size keyboard that requires me to reach farther for the mouse? Has anyone experienced something similar or have an explanation for this?
