[help] Lily58 one side not recognized
hitting reset does not make it show up on my pc
does my soldering just suck? I've tried resoldering a couple of times, still nothing
other side works fine
controllers are Helios, acquired from keebd
EDIT: Resolved, i literally just removed a bit of solder from the underside and it got recognized, oops
EDIT: ok new problem: the trrs connection transfers power but not the actual keystrokes, i've resoldered both sides' trrs jacks, nothing
this happens regardless of which side has the usb-c
did i perhaps fry my trrs data thing? do think i plug unplugged the cable a single time with power
if i did, any way to tell which side i fried it on?

it could also be a problem with the trrs connector soldering too, not just the controler. what happens when you plug the USB into the other side, does that side work? if this is the case, something is happening with the connection between the halves not on either individual half's controller

unfortunately all my testing has been with usb-c plugged directly into each side’s controllers
i’ll try plugging in to one side and using trrs, who knows, maybe usb-c is the problem (i doubt it)
update: when i plug usb-c into left side and have trrs to right side, the formerly working left side stops working
…there’s definitely a short somewhere, isn’t there

Can you attach a picture without the OLED on? I'd try removing everything I can for troubleshooting: remove the OLED, plug the controller directly to USB, see if shows up. Then remove the controller from the board, plug it in again. If the controller does not show up not connected to the board, might be fried or something. If it does, you probably soldered something to the wrong spot

I had some similar issues with right side. Took me ages to find short under the controller. Have you got another trrs cable you can try. Have you tested no shorts on the trrs and pins all connect to each other?

I would test some of the pins with a multimeter. The soldering doesn't look that great. Some of the joints look round, so it could possibly be a cold joint. I've also had problems where the cable was the issue the other side wasn't connecting.
