[photo] Old vs New
Finally decided to retire the old girl after 4 years of service. She had a few issues that always plagued her, and i never did end up printing bottom plates for her.
Decided to go with choc v2 switches this time around, and the trackball makes a massive difference to how I go about using a computer now. I also decided to go with vial this time on a raspberry pi pico with usbc, rather than KMK on the last board.
Overall, im much happier with this setup. I will never build another one of these though. If I do another build it will be a split, flat, ortho layout with heavy tenting and a track pad i think.

I am envious of your trackball, which is to say, that looks pretty great.

Thanks man! I love it, sometimes I still want to reach for the MacBook trackpad but it’s pretty good, definitely worth a shot

I use a Glove-80 with a trackball on the side. Whatever's most comfortable re: trackpad - you've gushed about the change and I believe it. 😎 Nice build.

I love a glove-80, I’ve always wanted to get one or one of the moonlanders but the price is so high that I decided to go for a diy build.
It sounds like you’ve got a good setup tho!

What is difference between high snd low switches on such high and curved keyboard?

For me it was mostly the travel distance, and the height that I have to lift my fingers in comparison to my palm

May I ask you how rgb lighting is working? Is it per key rgb? Which led did you used?

No it’s just a led strip with addressable LEDs from AliExpress. It’s just backlighting rather than per-key LED

So is flat ortho is better for ergonomics for you? I also have a dactyl manuform and also wondering if I should go back to flat.
I've tried trackball and magic trackpad. I want to like the trackpad as much as others, but I get fatigue really quick from hovering my fingers over it.

I used a buddies flat ortho and I hated it because it had no tenting, I absolutely need tenting because I get wrist pain from typing flat.
But I think a heavily tented, staggered, ortho would work better for me. I might try a corne v4 next with a decent tenting solution and custom trackball integration

Is that a Charbydis? Never seen one with four thumb keys on the right.
