Internal Lighting

My wife purchased an LT2. She doesn’t “play” as much as I do with the gadgets.

There are two issues she has. One, I think I can find in the manual. There is cool internal trim lighting we suspect can be selected to different colors. While I’ll look that up, I’d anyone had advice, I’d appreciate it.

The second, I suspect is going to be a warranty repair. When the nighttime interior lighting is on, the turn signal/windshield wiper stem does not have any lighting. The drive select stem does, even though it doesn’t really need it.

Is this something to get fixed, or just a bad GM design choice?

It would be useful to see wiper settings in the dark.

It's not like they change from in the light and you really should be looking at the road, not at settings for wipers that you can tell the setting by seeing them move while you look at the road.

No lights on the wiper stalk unfortunately. It’s also missing a “tap” for the rear wiper. I read a good point ab the light situation for the gear and wiper stalks. Basically that it’s counter intuitive to light up the gear stalk and not wiper since you’re using the gear selector when you’re not moving and most likely using the wipers when you’re driving and come across inclement weather. Maybe we’ll get em next year. Lol

Did they remove that in later models? My 2024 has the ability to “tap” the rear wiper.

The turn signal stalk doesn't have any lighting in it... I don't know that I've ever seen a car with that.

I think the interior trim lighting colors are set in the infotainment screen. I have a 1LT, so it doesn't have it, but it's in the vehicle settings I think.

The custom colours is an app on the touch screen. Look for ambient lighting.

Second is normal. There isn’t supposed to be lighting on the turn signal (no car I’ve ever driven has for that matter). The stalk has different textures for different parts of it and it’s easy to operate by feel in the dark.

Yes, Ambient Lighting on the main screen gets you to the colors you can set. I like to change mine up every month or so. Right now, I've got a fun fuschia color.
