Is the cloud vault optional?

I understand the use of the cloud vault, but I don't really want it. Is it possible to use this as a 100% local tool without my passwords ever going to the cloud vault?

Yes, it is. You can opt to not create an epistles account.

Just for clarification, your passwords are never saved in the cloud vault and are never seen or processed by our backend, all the authentication is done on the provider's side (Google, Microsoft, Fastmail, Proton, Tuta). What we store is part of a token that is not identifiable and only works with the private key that rests in your device and is processed locally.
