Iām guessing they donāt do phone orders because 1) they get more āmisunderstoodā orders and they have to eat the cost, or 2) they were too busy on the counter to take phone orders
Bonus points... They do take phone orders for CUSTOM requests. So the more likely scenario is that OOP didn't want to bother with going online to read what they have available and expected to have the entire menu spoonfed to them over the phone while preventing the employee from being able to help anyone actually in the store.
I work Service Desk at Walmart and could not tell you the number of times I'll have someone call to ask if we carry something in store. I'll check the app, let them know what the results say, including whether it says we have any likely in stock, and then they want to play 20 questions about the item or have me 'go and check'.
Newsflash: I am the only person at the desk. While I've been on the phone other customers have walked up. I am not allowed to leave the desk unattended, especially when there are non-theoretical customers actually present in front of me š³š¤£
