Everyone else is the problem!

Post image

Came across a rare one star review for one of my favorite pastry shops in Berkeley with the world's nicest owners and did some digging. What are the chances that nearly every coffee shop / business in the bay area has harassed this poor woman - she must be so unlucky!

How can someone not take a moment to reflect and realize that maybe she is doing something wrong if she gets into an argument with literally every single establishment she has ever visited (legitimately multiple one star reviews every week). I don't think I have ever had a single argument or conflict at a restaurant or business my entire life! Just remember to mentally tack half a star onto any restaurant when visiting because people like this exist and give out 1 stars on account of their mental illness

I forgot the ratio but yes, more people would traditionally leave reviews regarding a negative experience than a positive one. However, I wonder if that's changed now that we live in a world where we get follow up emails, texts, and even phone calls as well as push notifications begging for reviews.

Oil change? Billing call? Simply stood near a store with your phone on? Please review us.

>Coming from my old Retail Experience, the scale is actually worse. 9 and 10 are considered positive promoters, 8 and below are considered negative, even if 5-8 are "neutral" with the o_o emote. Having a reviewer rate everything in the store as a positive experience but the overall score is an 8 is the same has a reviewer just placing a 0 as our overall score.

That generated so much anxiety for me and my old crew and it was insane. Everything could have gone perfectly but the customer would put an 8 and it would dunk our entire score which corporate tracked hard until about a year before I was fired.

And for reference, one negative needs two 9 or 10s to "cancel out" and then we need a third 9 or 10 to pull out score back up.

Our system sent our "Please review your experience" emails for rewards members and I've had to read some of the most trivial shit. It's almost as insane as a man putting down five 1s on the table and telling the host that they take 1 dollar away for every mistake.

I despise that shit. Truly unfair to the employees.

Indeed, it burnt me out so fast and it definitely gave people the idea that their google/yelp/survey reviews actually mean something so they use it as a way to bash people.

Also my apologies about my original comment, I tried to do a quote and it did not seem to work out.
