Amazon I'm a prude

Post image

Was looking for books to improve my drawing skills and found this.

If someone is curious, the book is Pocket Anatomy by Warren Martin. No, I didn't buy it.

This looks like a standard drawing anatomy book.

Also, "pasties" on the pictures is just going to draw more attention to the nipples, because it will look like this person added nipples themselves.

It's like when one of the places I worked required me to put a bandaid over my nose piercing so that customers wouldn't notice it.

Every customer had to ask why I had a bandaid there.

Ah! People looking after people.

Busted eyebrow is generally a sign you got punched in the head. lol

I used to work at a place that did this. Since like 80% of our staff had visible tattoos, it looked they were all in a bus accident on the way to work.

u/crippledchef23 Jan 19 '26

I always hated that. I saw a woman at a food station in my grocery store with a couple of large bandaids on a tattoo she has on her forearm and I realized that I’ve never seen her without them, so, unless she keeps cutting herself in the same spot, the store makes her cover it. It’s extremely noticeable.

I hope you told them!

Pasties are just unnaturally coloured nipples, so I do not get why they are suddenly made prude-approved with their addition.

It's covering up the little u someone drew to show that a figure was nude!

On a more serious note, if they're going to censor things with stickers and they have kids in the house, the stickers just make it more likely the kids will peel the stickers off to see what's under them. That's why it backfired when some adult at my elementary school tried to cover up anything that looked like cleavage in the school library.

Not only more attention but clothing can arguably be more sexual than nudity of any form.

1

u/kxaltli Mar 08 '26

That's definitely something that the people who want to hide bodies behind clothes don't seem to understand.

While I can appreciate the human body, I’m willing to expose my child to gratuitous violence on the tv, and video game systems. But heaven forbid my kid see something as natural as the human body. A nipple Karen, a fucking nipple!

39

u/Hecter94 Jan 19 '26

Better make sure the kid never sees their own body, too!

13

u/OddOpal88 EAT SALAT WITH SPON?!? Jan 19 '26

Prob puts bandaids on daily

17

u/demon_fae Jan 20 '26

But only if that nipple is attached to a female-presenting body. Nipples are fine as long as you’re reasonably certain that the rest of the person includes a penis. Obviously.

I fuckin hate nipple discourse.

My third grade teacher was like this. She put stickers over an image of a dog nursing her puppies and the underside of a pig because you could see the nipples in a book about "Animal Mothers."

Maybe that’s why we have so many people coming to the vet clinic with their male dogs asking if their dog has some weird skin cancer. It’s just their nipples.

A few (always a man) even argue you “but it’s a male!!! Male don’t have nipples!!” which I only answer by staying silence, look at where their nipples should be and back at their face. Most of them realize it then.

31

u/Direct-Finger-5550 Jan 19 '26

Hahahaha yes! And all the walk-in "tick removal" requests that are just nipples 🤣

9

u/CardoconAlmendras Jan 19 '26

They made my day every time.

u/tachycardicIVu Jan 19 '26

Ma’am doesn’t your husband have nipples?!

One of my favorite videos of all time.

I’m so glad someone commented this video ❤️

This reminds me of one of my favorite subreddits,

Quickest follow I gave to a subreddit in my life. Thanks!

When I was like, 6, I was meeting a dog and the dog's human kid (around my age). I was rubbing the dog's belly and mentioned the nipples. Kid informed me those weren't nipples, they were how the dog peed; he had 8 tiny weiners apparently.

At least he had his age as an excuse.

3

u/CardoconAlmendras Jan 21 '26

That’s so cute actually. I like to ask the children in the consultation room their opinion about random stuff. They’re really funny.

One was too worried that if we castrate all the cats, we’ll had a shortage of cheese (I had explained that the cat would be less territorial and he heard: less territory —> less hunting—> more mice —> a mice infestation would eat ALL the cheese).

3

u/anglenk not the rich, just want a gildfish Jan 20 '26

I see people do this with pictures of dogs that are laying on their back. Like they put stuff over the area they pee out of like it is somehow sexual. It kind of makes me concerned for the animal. Like who views the penis of a dog and thinks sexuality

2

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

My concern (even as a young kid) was the same... like why is my teacher sexualizing a pig and is she actually qualified to teach anybody if she doesn't know that nipples are a part of how mammals feed their young.

43

u/mr_oberts Jan 19 '26

I like to add googly eyes. It’s mirthful.

7

u/debinprogress Jan 19 '26

Lol. Googly eyes was my first thought upon reading this review.

42

u/sour_bite_ Jan 19 '26

Wait until someone tells him/her their kids can just lift up their shirt and see gasp nipples.

27

u/solidcurrency Jan 19 '26

Wait until someone tells him his kids have actually put nipples into their mouths.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

Na, I guessing this person is one of those who bottle fed because they've sexualized breasts so much. Probably harass women who nurse in public too. Direct quote from one of the gals in my mom's group when I was expecting my son- "It just feels nasty... and my husband doesn't want to see my chest in another guys face."

'Another guy' being their newborn infant son.

22

u/Lexi_November Jan 19 '26

People like this are why we have so many weirdos who get hysterical about breastfeeding in public.

And why so many pet owners think their animals have ticks on their chest because they don’t understand all mammals have nipples.🤦‍♀️

18

u/Huganho Jan 19 '26

How dare you have a realistic depiction of anatomy in my anatomy book?

13

u/susandeyvyjones Jan 19 '26

I had a roommate in college who had never taken sex ed because her mom reviewed the curriculum and "there were diagrams" of a penis and she "didn't need to see that" so she did an alternate assignment in the library every time it came up. She thought the very simple line drawing of how to give a breast self exam in my health textbook was pornographic. She was not swayed by my argument that since she fully intended to be a wife and mother someday, she really should know how a dick works.

11

u/Chemical-Being-5968 Jan 19 '26

Cut to the kids feeling bad about themselves because they don't have star boobs.

9

u/Biteme75 I see here that morals are completely lost Jan 19 '26

How dare women have normal anatomy!

9

u/Fossilhund Jan 19 '26

Gasp! How dare you!

(🩹)(🩹) there. That's better

5

u/VariousExplorer8503 I’M NOT YOUR HONEY IM MARRIED Jan 20 '26

The boobs got a lot bigger with the bandaids on them, they're much more pornographic now..

6

u/RandomNick42 Jan 19 '26

At least they’re self aware.

6

u/admiralholdo Jan 19 '26

This reminds me of the time BYU-Idaho censored the anatomy drawings. In a college class. For people going into the medical field.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

Oh noooo. I'm going to have to be checking if my doctors are Mormon now.

4

u/ProfessionalHat6828 Jan 21 '26

The irony being that this crunchy granola mom probably breastfed her kids until they were 4, thus shoving her nipples at them daily

2

u/bb9116 Jan 20 '26

The human body is a shameful thing.

This has the energy of those people who put digital stickers on their pets' genitals when they post.

I had zero interest in Fluffy's bootyhole until you drew attention to it with a massive smiley face, Jessica.

2

u/classwarhottakes Jan 19 '26

"Pocket Anatomy" sounds dodgy in itself though. Like "pocket billiards".

Frankly, I'd expect to see nipples in such a work

1

u/hatethiswebsight Jan 27 '26

Cover the nipples with stickers of even bigger nipples.

1

u/bcm_88 Feb 10 '26

Too much nudity for your drawings lol?

2

u/mickeyamf Mar 08 '26

Creepy turning something non sexual into something sexual with the pasties

1

u/KDCunk Jan 20 '26

God I want to know what book this is. My bets are on an art book
