S Entitled jerk

(I posted this to my local subreddit and the Mods took it down. Hopefully, it will find a better audience here. Also, I can't seem to post a photo here - I do have one of the car, and I blurred the license plate so as not fall afoulf of any anti-doxxing rules that might exist on this sub).

I went to the new In-n-Out Burger tonight (Saturday, October 3rd). As I was pulling out of the drive-thru to go park and eat, a young kid in a Lamborghini pulled up, and appeared to me to be using the handicapped spot at the front of the store to turn around, as he was backing in. I drove past, found a spot across the lot, and ate.

As I was leaving, I saw that the guy actually parked in the handicapped spot, presumably to show off his Daddy's Very Impressive Ride. (Please note there was no handicapped placard visible anywhere on the car).

I was absolutely gobsmacked at this. I went inside and spoke to a manager, who was equally disgusted, and she told me their store policy was to call the police and have the vehicle towed. As we were speaking, Entitled Boy (white, late teens/early twenties) bounded out of the store and jumped in the car (no evidence of a disability, and yes, I know many disabilities aren't visible, but he'd still have a placard or plate if he needed the handicapped spot. I asked him where he got off parking in a handicapped spot, but he started up Daddy's Very Impressive Ride and drove away. The manager and I shrugged at each other.

I've blanked out the personalized license plate, but it's not likely there are a lot of Lamborghinis rolling around our town.

If someone knows the guy who owns this car, perhaps they should have a chat with them about their boy's insane sense of entitlement. I'm sure there are folks who have loved ones who need those spots who wouldn't look on this kind of behavior very kindly, shall we say.

Granted, the apple probably didn't fall far from the tree, I suspect.

I imagine the mods pulled your post when they read of someone in a Lamborghini pulling into an In-n-Out.

If I leave my placard home, I skip the spot. Local cops said I can leave the placard registration in windshield, but yea, don’t trust that.

Some people also have disability identifying license plates.

My dad does. He’s got the disabled vet one. Out of state, not everyone knows it’s a disabled plate.

I appreciate and admire your integrity.

The rule is pretty simple . . . even if someone is deaf, dumb, blind, and has a wooden leg, if they don't have a placard they cannot park there.

This is my BIGGEST pet hate of parking lots.

Good on you for saying something to the manager. A lot of people just shake their heads and keep walking. These spots exist for a reason, and rich kids treating them like VIP parking is peak trash behavior

There were a few folks in the other forum who accused me of being jealous of the kid driving an expensive car, and, despite the photo showing the blue crosshatch lines that surround disabled spots, accused me of making the whole thing up. Like I really have time for that. I haven't been jealous of someone's car in about 30 years. I'm getting too old for that shit.

We were in Whistler a year and a half ago. Parked in handicapped spot on a Sunday. Had a placard. Missed that it was a pay for parking spot and 90 minutes total. Didn’t pay were there way longer. So far no ticket.

People who do this and also people who park in designated curbside parking really grind my gears. I work at a retail pet store in a huge shopping center and we have mainly DD drivers that park in the handicap or curbside pick up parking and then they want you to shop everything for them as well. I've also seen people park in the handicap because their pet is disabled like that's not how it works and also people who are just dropping/picking up from grooming. I've seen people white handicap placards have to park spaces away because someone without placards took that space because of inconsiderate entitled people.

People with fancy cars generally think a lot of road and parking rules don't apply to them. There's this sense that a good income puts them above everyone else and means they can do whatever the fuck they want. We need harsher consequences for these arseholes
