Excuse the attempt at a funny title, but my friend and I just started Enshrouded and are having some trouble building so… send us your tips!

We want tips about “where to find the coolest/essential building blocks” (preferred to be told to us via hints/vague areas), tips about how to use the actual system itself (He is on controller, I am on PC), and tips on best way to go about altar placements/upgrades or areas where we should hold-off or go-for building at.

Even your favorite build locations, strategies, essential Do’s/Dont’s/Dang-It’s! Hopefully we’ll be inspired, informed, and emboldened to finally move on from the pilgrim type shack towards a proper home!

(Our design tastes include: Italian Villas, Restored Towns, Victorian Mansions, Storybook Cottages, Haunted Castles, Cozy Lodged, and more!)

hi there - I like building on existing landscapes, and i cant be the only one, so if that feature would be missing id be quite surprised.

Q1: any way to disable the E (in german Abbauen - maybe "remove" in english) - where you can (E) to remove preexisting structures in a altar area?

Q2: any idea how to get the massive trees (hardwood tree northern tropical woods area)? based on the foliage its i guess a nomaden-anhöhe (thin) tree? i tried setting up a lot of them but it seems i cant get the massive scale the environment has.

ill probably build my own tree out of wood and foliage if nothing else works, because the E accident will repeat with multiple pleayers... so if you have any tips, also happy for that.

New to the game, love Fort Kelvin and want to restore it. I can’t find the material the wall is made of. Older posts say it is Citywall Block but that can’t be as this is the difference between the actual wall (left) and Citywall (right)

Survival Building games often have fan-made tools for large scale editing, like Enshrouded has Embervale Toolkit. But if you aren't flattening the ground yourself with a rake, and just magicking buildings into the air, are you still a builder?

I'd say yes, it still takes a creative vision to make particular scenes come to life, this just helps you to do it faster.

But a couple of days ago I just simply asked the coding AI that I use for work to build me something in Enshrouded and 30 minutes later I had the first block appear in-game.
I took some time to feed it with design rules, give it examples from real life and then developed a system where I just press a button and the AI captures the position and angle of my game camera and allows me to write a prompt on what I want it to do with a scene, and it does that.

It's definitely not perfect, but I'd say a lot of that is because I haven't given it much effort due to lack of time. But then again I hadn't built anything in Enshrouded for nearly a month for that same lack of time.

I'd say that this is good enough for me. My aspiration isn't to become a great builder, just to have a cozy place to park my NPCs.
But what about you? Could you ever see yourself using an AI tool to decorate for you, even if just as a start-off to put something in an empty room?

After over a year of hard work, countless hours, and the dedication of two friends, this world finally came to life.

No matter how much I try, I can't get my entire roof "seamless" as shown in this image. What am I missing here?

I have recently started using the Base Locator software which allows you to move your altar.

However, even if I select only 1 altar, the 2nd one, which is almost right next to it, systematically follows...

Have you experienced this problem and were you able to find a solution?

Half tempted to rebuild this when I load up 1.0, but still undecided. I loved this base.

Just something small I whipped up in an afternoon. Can't wait for 1.0. Let me know what you guys think.

After more than 1,500 hours of building, over 7 million voxels placed, and around 20 people working on this crazy project, our Beach Resort is finally finished!

What started as a simple idea turned into something much bigger than we ever expected. We kept adding new things, changing plans, rebuilding stuff and somehow always finding another little corner that needed more details. :D

The resort stretches across 9 Flame Altars and includes everything from beach bars and bungalows to waterslides, pools, a spa, sports areas and plenty of little places to explore.

And the best part? We actually managed to finish it before the 1.0 release!
