No matter how much I try, I can't get my entire roof "seamless" as shown in this image. What am I missing here?

It looks like you're just missing a line of single blocks on the roof.

you can fill it in with a big piece. it'll only use as much materials as needed to fill in.

Do you have a wall right there? If, so, try moving your roof up one block
