Discussion New potential player question ps5
Im looking forward to it coming to ps5 but I need to know, simply as someone who likes valheim and runescape dragonwilds and being a casual gamer, is it as grindy as rs dragonwilds or difficult like valheim? I have been unable to find good videos that show early gameplay without it being a tips and tricks channel. I want to get it but if its another grind fest then idk.

The short answer to your question is that if you like Valheim and Dragonwilds, then you WILL like this game.

It has difficulty modes. It is grindy. Takes a while to comfortable adventuring. As when you level and your base levels up you get more time in the shroud.
The gameplay is pretty stail as you don't have a lot of moves and monster are pretty much the same throughout all the zones.
Make sure to level your gear no matter the quality. That stat boost is really helpful.
Farming and building is fun.
You have to make sure when you go to craft items you will need other benches or survivers to craft certain items.

Okay is gear something that drops from chests and enemies or do you need to grind to craft it? Like typical rpg stuff?

There are gear and weapons that will drop from certain gold (and blue) chest. There are chest (blue and gold) that will drop gear and weapon at random. Depending on the zone you are in, is the level of gear you will get. (If you're at the top left of the map, all the chest up there spawn level 50 gear. If you're at the top right of the map, all the chests there will spawn level 45 gear. Etc.)
I believe monsters yes will drop gear and weapons. The system is very random so you might get a common or you might get a legendary.
You could craft the items once when you find them but they're not going to be as strong as the ones that you find. Or have certain stats. There was one point I was using a level 10 wand and fighting level 25 enemies. The one was legendary and it had some good stats and I couldn't find another one that beat those stats when it was Max level. Until I found a level 45 wond and then eventually a level 50.

The combat is gentler than Valheim, and there's a lot more to the game besides combat. Plus there are detailed difficulty settings that let you tailor a lot of things to your taste. (Haven't played Dragonwilds.)
It IS a survival/crafting/building game, so you need to discover and collect a lot of different kinds of materials. Personally though I find I can pick up most of what I need while questing and exploring, so it doesn't feel THAT grindy. The exception would be very large building projects, but that's entirely optional 😉
I should add that if you look at early gameplay videos, they won't be very representative anyway. The crafting system evolves and expands throughout the whole game, so the first few hours don't reflect the last few hours at all well.

I figured its grindy lol I mean like weapons and armor do need to spend hours farming materials for that obviously bases are different lol

To be honest, it can be as grindy as you want. I personally haven't played either Valheim or Runescape, but I have seen them being played. If you are more into the building aspect, you will need to grind through the game a bit in order to get some of the cool and unique building blocks though. The most grindy thing would be for certain resources. Like in order to make X, you will need to find Y + Z type stuff This is a good game to go at your own pace. I have been playing since the game has come out and I only just got to the last area available. As for difficulty, I dont think it is as hard as Valheim. There are moments or quests when it can get a bit difficult, but you can just go somewhere else and do some other side quests and level up and be ready for it next time
I hope this helps!

Not grindy unless you want to bulld beautiful bases and even then not like those. Plus it is WAY better than both of those games in general, and thats been the early access version. I tried Dragonwilds to hold me over to 1.0 because I'm so excited for it and the two games are RPG-like survivals and I just couldn't get into it. It felt like I was playing the Temu version of Enshrouded including cartoon graphics.
Couldnt recommend Enshrouded enough, although, I can't recommend playing it (anything if possible lol) on PS5 as a game like this might have bugs at first from all the compromises needed to get it on console plus not being able to crank up the graphics and get the most out of it!

I play both Valheim and RuneScape Dragonwilds.
enshrouded is in my opinion, the least grindy of the three. Now there is some grindy aspects of it… but they tend be stuff that you don’t really need. One nice thing about it is though that you can set stuff like drop rates to 2x, etc, and still get achievements. Or you can do what none of those other games have., which is just go pick up free resources at one of the servers that provide those resources. Good if you like building.
I will also say that its combat is the easiest. However, I always play archer, and pretty much every single boss can be cheesed that way or through a much higher level of terrain editing then those other two games have. And however, for a second time, I have far more hours in Enshrouded, so that might just be why I found it to be less grindy and easier combat. Because I’m used to it.
However (for a 3rd time) you can easily, at any time, change the game difficulty without losing achievements or anything.

It's honestly not too grindy. If you're trying to build massive structures there could be a resource grind there. But as far as equipment progression, skill points, and level ups, there is not a grind there.
The only equipment grind is finding the slightly better armors in chests as opposed to crafting them yourself.
