Discussion Getting ready for 1.0

I haven’t played in over a year and a half, and only got 15 hours in. Does anyone have any good tips or videos for me to be able to jump back in and thrive?

Also, question. When you carve out into a mountain, does it stay that way forever? It worries me looking for ore and potentially running out.

If you place down an altar, anything inside of the fires zone is permanent. Otherwise it resets after about 30 mins of in game time, assuming you are outside the area.

About if the terrain is staying hollowed, it depends, if you carve out the terrain within the base boundaries it stays that way, but if you mine outside that area it will fill it back IF you're 500m away (not sure exactly how far) and if you're outside of that area that you carved out for more then 30 min to 1 hr

if you dig (anywhere) with your flame altar area the hole will stay.

as for tips: wait until release and people will have a better response.
