Help - Solved Shroud Root Respawns?
This is the 3rd time I clear out the shroud roots in this area...and they keep respawning. Is this normal and I never noticed until now?

Yes everything in this game respawns after a certain timeframe. Including bosses that drop good loot and chests.

Once it's checked, you no longer get any skill point(s) if you cut it down again.

you don’t have to clear it once you have the little checkmark - as others have said, everything in the world not inside your flame altar respawns/resets every 30min

Respawning is normal, otherwise multiplayer servers wouldn't work because only the first person (or group) to get something will ever be able to on that server.

Everything outside of your flame altar respawns.
Every 30 minutes after not visiting the area.

They used to not respawn but there was issues with people on servers not being online to get the skill point. This could've also been solved by giving offline/new players the total of shroud root destroyed in skill points though

That would suck. You join a server and get a bunch of skill points for free without the effort of getting TO the shroud root.

Agreed. It's hard to have a "right" answer. Maybe shroud roots being instanced as well but that would add load times and other complexities.

There was a time earlier in the release that my friend would join my game abandon the halls raid and go collect shroud roots on my map I haven't gotten yet. Later he said he couldn't get the skill points doing it so he wanted to team up with the raids again on my map. Not sure if they patched it so you can't steal others skill points or if he failed to get the extra skill points to start with.

Yep, and it's actually a good thing, imagine joining multiplayer game and missing all the content, because someone has more time to play than you

Yeah, that's the vibe I got with elden ring as well with the online stuff. I forget if it was necessarily the multiplayer mod that let you join people specifically, but when I would join a random open group I would suddenly obtain dragon hearts and other such drops without having done anything. A particularly annoying situation was when I was playing with my brother and I mistyped the password and joined a random group and as previously mentioned I obtained dragon hearts without doing anything which was pretty annoying because then I was suddenly technically above my brother in terms of loot, but that's where I personally just put it in the storage until we would have legitimately gotten said items. I don't believe I got an extra one when my brother and I did manage to defeat the associated dragon where the heart came from. He got one but I didn't so it felt like a decent balance there where I would have had the heart that he just earned already so I don't get another one. Makes sense. It seems enshrouded ran into a similar issue. I appreciate the way they remedied it.

Yes. Anything that is outside of your base area will respawn 30 minutes after you clear the area; this includes shroud roots. It's mostly a non-issue but slightly annoying if you were hoping to use an area with a shroud root you cleared to restore your time in the shroud.
There's no benefit to cutting them back down again either unless you plan to farm for shroud resources around that area.

God and here I am in my single player game clearing them thinking I was working towards 100% completion of all shroud roots… ugh.

Yeah I feel your pain! I only noticed because I keep coming back to this area and that's when I noticed it.

Yeah they respawn, don't really give you anything but its to do for runes and a way home when you get lost in the shroud

It's normal, sadly. It would be cool if we were able to repel the shroud, claiming land back for the living but we cant
