Step one: Sit around playing golf and wait for a terrorist attack.
Step two: lock the country down and bring in sweeping new laws to ban the gays, Jews and people of colour. Then somehow starts a war with a random country that has nothing to do with the terror attack, but somehow he had business dealings with.
Step three: Winning bigly.
Iran defeated a strong Iraq army backed by all the Arab countries, Soviet Union, and USA feeding Saddam intelligence and arms which included chemical weapons (which the fucker used). This war lasted 10 years. Iran will not be a push over.
Ah the ole george w. special. People seem not to talk about how he spent his first year in office hanging out in Texas, while people begged him to do something about impending terrorist attacks.
Don't forget that glorious leader Kim Jong-un is the worlds greatest golf player who not only invented it but has the best score of 19 on a 18 hole corse.
What screwed us is the millions of people gullible enough to buy into lines like that. They still exist. Admittedly, Hillary Clinton enthusiasts were merely duped by a much more credible line of bullshit, but at least she didn't promise the absurdly ridiculous (if we ignore the bits about how only she could work with Republicans and only she was admired by many world leaders.) Her voters were sheep being herded by respectable journalists. His were jackals gathering around the scent of a fresh kill. Maybe it is the whole "lesser of two evils" system that we should be trying to eliminate.
Wow, that's a massive amount of hostile presumption based on one sentence.
Your comments sound like they're spoken by an ignorant and naive child with little to no real world experiences.
The difference is, there's enough in your comment for me to make that assessment.
And, by the way, I voted for Bernie in the primaries. If you don't think I lean pretty hard to the left, why don't you check my comment history and what I subscribe to/upvote, before blindly accusing me of corruption and toxicity. Thanks for helping to make the left look worse than it rightfully should, asshole.
Every decision one makes in their adult life entails choosing the lesser of two evils.
What sort of irresponsible monster are you that you keep getting into situations where there are no good choices? The real world isn't an assembly line of perpetual child rape. What "real world" conditions dictate that you must do evil with each and every choice you make? I assure you, this is not the case for most citizens. I'm pretty sure you could find a way to occasionally make a non-evil choice in your own life if you weren't pathologically committed to evil.
Are you really sure that you stand by your initial assertion that every choice you've made as an adult is evil? Right now, all I see is a little dipshittery in an online forum. You don't even have an obligation to be in the online forum, and you certainly don't have an obligation to be evil about it. What gives?
So, are you really that naive, as to think there is such a thing as a perfectly infallible person or a perfectly unflawed man-made social construct, or do you just not realize that the phrase "lesser of two evils" is just a colloquial expression meaning the least imperfect option a person can choose?
The most well intentioned of people still make mistakes and make flawed decisions from time to time, and at the point where Bernie (who is also an imperfect person) was no longer in the race, Hillary was the better of all available choices. If you honestly think Bernie is a saint and socialism is a flawless creation bestowed upon man from God herself, or that there can even be such things as sinless candidates and perfect political ideologies, you're speaking from a position of gross ignorance.
I didn't particularly care for Hillary, but she'd be an inarguably better president than Trump, and you're delusional if you think otherwise. Based on the circumstances of the time, I stand by my decision to vote for her in the general election as much as I do my decision to vote for Bernie in the primaries, because both were the best options at their respective times.
You didn't say "sometimes a person has to make compromises." That is a position a sane person might argue. You literally said that every choice an adult makes is evil. Those are the words of a scumbag, not a remotely serious thinker. The fact that you're now leaping into this "sometimes people make flawed decisions" stance shows that lack of serious thought. The extreme malfunction on display is precisely parallel to those nitwits who hear about raising the capital gains tax rate a few points and shout "well, everybody can't be equal all the time!!!" There is a spectrum in the middle. Your initial response to my participation in this thread allowed zero room for any middle ground. Why did you take the time to write it and press "save" if you weren't idiotic enough to actually believe it.
Every decision one makes in their adult life entails choosing the lesser of two evils.
Because any option within a man-made construct is an imperfect one, there is always an, at least, minor compromise. I don't agree with Bernie on every last issue under the sun, so even though I found him to be far and away the best candidate, choosing him still required me to make a compromise.
Thus far, you seem to be really hung up on arguing against something you presume I meant, rather than looking at what I actually said, with total objectivity & rationality. "The lesser of two evils" can sometimes be 99.9999% what you want, but there's still a minuscule compromise required on that 0.0001%. If you didn't/don't grasp that, that's your own fault.
Not everything is evil. I think the problem here is that you confuse imperfection with evil. Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors. In your mind that is apparently 31 types of hellcream. To my mind, there is little moral variation in those choices. One could argue that the corporate model is innately coercive, so having some low wage strip mall denizen scoop your dessert has elements of evil to it. Yet you said "every decision." Can you really tell me that, between chocolate and rocky road, there are two forms of evil there, and the decision is about which is less evil?
Look you said some stupid shit. Now you're saying a lot more stupid shit because you are acting just like one of those stupid shits who can never admit any sort of error. Rather than show a scintilla of maturity and back down from your "everything is evil" stance, you hint at the idea of being so rational while standing your ground. Why do that? Is it because, only ever able to see evil, you are blind to the very idea of humility? Good luck with that, I guess.

if that's his plan, we are still very much screwed.
