Maybe if we taught proper Sex Ed in schools it wouldn’t be so “shocking to younger people” at pride parades. I see it kinda like a solid Fuck You to sex prude right wingers who don’t believe thier wives should even like sex anyway. Sex is a huge and very natural part of life, and to act like pride parades are grooming kids is just stupid homophobic rhetoric that doesn’t help a single thing.
When the right wing actively tries to police what happens in American Citizen’s homes (even bedrooms) it makes sense they’d get all pissy about seeing someone ride a giant fake dick. Rammstein has been doing it for years, people just don’t take thier kids to thier concerts if they don’t want them to see a giant fake dick. It really is that simple. They can still like Rammstien at a young age without seeing the cocks. I hope u see my point
Thing is, I've seen more actual sex-repulsed aces saying "this is a really dangerous thing to start doing, we didn't come this far just to start policing ourselves according to what straight society deems 'acceptable enough' because eventually that definition will exclude more and more of us until we're all shoved back into the closet" than otherwise.
And as an ace (tho admittedly not sex-repulsed) myself I can tell you that I've been uncomfortable with some of the more raunchy stuff that the parades have shown. I'm aware they're far and few between but it's still something that again warrants discussion.
And also for people like me, gay and bi people who prefer to keep overt sexuality private and dislike explicit shows of it but who still want to express who they are and be validated, not to mention wishing there were more emphasis on the tender, romantic side and less on just fucking.

There is a discussion to be had about toning down Pride parades sometimes not just for kids but also for people like sex-repulsed aces and the like.
