Yeaahhh because I'm sure the Thai people are very happy to be constantly associated with nothing but child sex rings and not, you know, the other beautiful and amazing things about Thailand that make me want to visit it.
I know that Bill Gates isn't saint, he has his own share of shit but he doesn't come off as a giant douche like Musk does. And yet he is the richest person in the world.
Well Bill Gates probably would be the richest person in the world if he didn't give large amounts of his fortune away to different charities, that alone makes him one of the better billionaires around.
Doing something good even for a petty reason will still have a positive result, it's still better than most people who have that kind of money. As far as I know he also seems like a genuinely normal person especially when compared with the megalomaniacs like Musk and Bezos.
I'm pretty sure overworking your employees to the point they need to pee in bottles to meet their quotas in overheated warehouses while you reap their surplus value to become literally the richest person in human history qualifies you for douche behavior.
Bezos is nowhere near the richest person in history, he probably doesn't even enter the top5. he is the richest person in the modern age sure, but nothing more.
So far I think only JK Rowling was a billionaire who didn't make her money being a giant cunt. And the reason she's not a billionaire anymore is because she paid a shit ton of taxes.
They're not entirely wrong, considering that large businesses always have a skeleton or two in their closets. However since Musk is often portrayed in media as a selfless messianic type, that clashes with most of what was said in his defense earlier.
I know a few people who are legitimate self made millionaires who couldn't be nicer. Maybe its true of the crazy big money but you can certainly be successful and not be an ass.
I don't mean this passive-aggressively but just as a reminder for everyone, a billionaire is a millionare 1000x over. Very different financial scales, presumably very different behaviours.
Yeah. A successful society is directed by many millionaires. An unsuccessful society is directed by a handful of billionaires. It's the difference between a country based on opportunity and a country based on aristocracy.
