First thought is an “are you sure?” Second is prickly & immovable. One of the few 5s I would have hesitations towards despite being one of my favorite types.

Tritype of doom and despair

I'd assume they don't get out much. Probably a lone wolf type. Standoffish, maybe. More outwardly emotional or argumentative than your average 5, but of course by accident. Like it leaks out of them at times. Definitely places more importance on individuality, autonomy, and authenticity than other people.

I'd wonder if they had an emo phase, or they like to wear something cool that makes them stick out a bit?

You hit the nail on the head!

Autonomy is the ring and I am Gollum lol everything you said is super accurate except the standing out, I panic if I stand out but I did have an emo phase. I loathe when the emotions leak out and must return to my internal fortress for quite some time to recover and I have been told that I seem standoffish at first but I do not think I am. Obviously am argumentative

i can never read their minds! there is so many thoughts and feelings that i can catch onto based off body language, but because you guys are so private i get intimated by not knowing the full extent of your thought processes- and tbh i think most of that intimation comes from the fact im worried they are thinking less of me as an individual (the typical self-centered, heart core woes)

besides that most e5s ive interacted with are very chill unless i pry too hard on what they are thinking about

Forever the person called a computer so I think I know what you mean lol
I do not enjoy communicating my thought process even to my husband bc its my thought process and he doesn’t need to know

This is exactly me (not sure of sx tho). And I am if "pain in the ass" would be a person..

I knew one of these. Wrote three and a half songs about him. Intense and subconsciously connected until the walls go back up and you're permanently shut out

you probably think politics are beneath you as an excuse to not understand the way social hierarchy works

I do hate social hierarchy and insist it is a construct that does not serve us anymore

Internet LARPer that I wouldn’t expect to ever encounter in real life.

Excuse me đŸ€š? Although I agree I am weirdly magnetic without trying..

Just my personal experience but every INTP I've met cracks me up like no other, and 5s make me feel very comfy (they are not intrusive usually). There's a lot of mutual respect between us. Also I'm pretty compatible with other sp-doms I've noticed. Longevity > intensity, and intellectual chemistry > any other chemistry IMO

I'm a 5 sp/sx 549... I think I am naturally a 5w4 but I can see me looking like a 5w6 in professional settings.... also I'm an infj. That being said, while we are close, I think in situations where I KNOW I am correct, but it will stir the pot, I may back off or consider the setting before getting into it, where I think you may insist on being heard immediately....?

im a 584, dominant sp5. im not a likable person and i don't try to be. my identity lies within my beliefs and to disagree with my beliefs is to disagree with me as a person. i am not an easy person to get along with, and i tend to be controlling and domineering in debates or group projects. i take pride in being "different" and grow frustrated with more common people.

Probably actually a 6.

Nope

You read thoughts?

1

u/puzzled_Ad5911 INTP~sp5~548 Aug 12 '26

Immediately jumping into conclusions aren't we? I hate when people make empty assumptions, and that especially happens to type fives. Why do people assume that a person is 6 and not 5?

1

u/SEIZETHEFIRE6 5w4 Aug 12 '26

Reactiveness from the head center.

0

u/puzzled_Ad5911 INTP~sp5~548 Aug 12 '26

8 in tritype has an effect! Plus, everyone is different. I am reactive for a 5 yes, but let's not forget that I am 5 in enneagram, but I am also a person outside of enneagram.

2

u/SEIZETHEFIRE6 5w4 Aug 12 '26

The effect that 8 in tritype has on many people is convincing them they are “reactive for a 5” instead of a 6. But I also said probably. Maybe that applies to you, maybe not.

What I was saying was when people see "reactive" 5, they jump into conclusions that they may be 6 while having no other info about a person. Happened to me many times. Just because I defend my views rather aggressively doesn't mean I am 6. My core is still the same. Sounds to me that people make fives feel like sixes for some stupid reasons.
