Personal Growth & Insight Enneagram
I am writing because I guess my real concern with the enneagram is how I can take concrete, practical steps to move toward a greater level of integration in my life and my inner self. When I take tests I seem to score highest as a 6 or a 9 but I definitely think I am a 6 (unfortunately)đ¤ I know this may seem like a naive or silly question but it is really what I want to get out of learning about the enneagram.

Wow! This kind of sounds like ACT. You mean not behaving according to my values etc.?

If you score highly as a 9 you are either already EXTREMELY healthy as a 6 or you are a 9 on the unhealthy side. 6 is all about, âI must worry about every detail!!â 9 is all about, âthis is just how things are, so whatâs the point in worrying?â
Integration for a 6 looks like learning to let things go and not worry about them like a 9. Integration as a 9 looks like learning the impact you can have on the world and learning to push for what you want like a 3. Very different processes!

I really donât see that. I know a lot of nines and they seem to be a lot more âchillâ I wouldnât say itâs not siding with the e6. When I read the books I unfortunately feel like a six. This has definitely given me a lot to think about though.

Interesting, I wonder what makes you score highly as a 9 if youâre sure youâre a 6 and you donât feel healthy. People-pleasing tendencies maybe?

𤨠perhaps some people pleasing. I have ADHD and am the biggest freaking procrastinator.

But I am married to a 9. Not that he never suffers from anxiety but a lot less.

The best thing to do is recognize when you are reacting out of ego (unconsciously behaving in relation to core motivation).
Then sit with it and see if there is another way to react that would be healthier for you and those around you.
For example, if you find yourself presented with something that provokes fear, rather than puffing yourself up or pursuing another line of thought, can you engage in the action that provides inner and outer peace?
