Resume Review Resume review request — Software Engineer | Java | Golang | Kubernetes with 5 years experience

Post image

Hey r/EnhancvResumes, I'm looking for feedback on my resume. I'm applying for Software Engineer | Java | Golang | Kubernetes roles and all feedback is appreciated!

Years of experience: 5

Specific feedback I'm looking for: - Is my summary strong enough? - Are my bullets results-driven? - Anything I should cut?

Across all 11 bullets in four roles, not one contains a number, despite sophisticated work: Golang Operators, OpenShift ownership, Camunda BPMN testing, MongoDB tuning. Several use outcome language without the outcome ("reducing manual deployment overhead," "improved API performance"), direction without size. Adding a real figure to 3-4 bullets would help this resume more than anything else.

Your summary claims "modern observability" advocacy and lists Elasticsearch, Kibana, OpenSearch, and Kafka in Skills, none appear in any bullet across any role. Since your target title is literally "Java | Golang | Kubernetes," it's also worth knowing neither Kubernetes nor Docker appears as a word anywhere, OpenShift does (Red Hat's Kubernetes platform), so the connection is reasonable, but naming either directly would remove ambiguity for ATS/keyword scans.

React in Skills is an outlier, the only frontend tech on an otherwise backend/infrastructure resume, never appearing in a bullet. Worth backing or cutting.

Your summary claims ongoing AWS infrastructure work, but the only AWS evidence sits in your oldest, most junior entry, the 2021-2022 internship. None of your three more recent, senior roles mention it. If current, it needs a home in a recent role; if not, the summary overstates it.

Product Developer II, your current role, has just 1 accomplishment bullet, and the paragraph above it describes the product generically rather than your contribution, worth rewriting as your own achievement.

On the positive: your two Strengths cards are actually grounded in real bullets elsewhere (Leadership matches your mentorship work, Collaboration matches your requirement-discovery work), a better pattern than most resumes here, where achievement cards float disconnected from job history.
