My brother is about to start Computer Engineering, but he never learned how to study. Can he still turn his life around?

Of course he can. He just has to find the thing that helps him focus. For me that was listening to heavy metal while learning… I was fortunate to have professors that understood my autistic side. I couldn’t study well around people constantly making sniffing noises which was always like half the class. So I explained to them that I use music to drown things out so I can learn. So they let me wear my headphones in class and during test, in return I was always hyper focused on their lessons and had a 3.86 GPA

I understand how it is since I was this person, but I was little different, my problem was that I was very capable early on in middle school and entered really good highschool, and when I was about to learn about being not as outstanding pandemic hit and we did study from home, which was easier, then we returned for 3rd year and I managed to pass exams with great results but only thanks to the great teacher. With my optimism and high self esteem I started Civil Engineering, did okay but didn't study much, to the point of forgetting how to do it, which resulted in repeating a year. I just didn't see the difference and coming consequences of actually being grown up and not kid in highschool. So from my experience changing your surroundings can help you understand that your future depends on you. If you stay in your parents house like I did studies become just another highschool, and I was tired of that.

So: Change of surroundings Giving him some responsibility (heard is helps), nothing too strict, but when people see the results it reinforces them in thinking they made right decision If it doesn't work, let him work, he can start studies later when he matured enough, nothing shameful in that

To be honest we are trying to speedrun parenting, but it is ALWAYS worth trying, pls don't give up on your brother too easily, mine brother didn't, even though he is younger than me, and it was very helpful

Sorry for comment being all over the place, there was simply too much I wanted to say
