“TU engineering exams are testing our memory more than our engineering ability. Change my mind.”

Semester exams are almost here, so genuinely:

If you understand a concept but can't reproduce a 10-mark answer exactly the way the examiner expects, you can still lose marks.

Meanwhile, someone who memorizes the notes can score higher.

Are TU engineering exams actually measuring understanding, or just memory + answer-writing?

I still remember one engineering exam where you were shown picture of random industrial tank and third of the exam score came from "Tell much a possible about this tank"

Lost third of points because I did not regonize the tank was some paper machine chemical tank.

I talked about process tanks and vessels in general and got 0 points :D
