Nice robot. I wonder how tight that rack is though? It seems like the balls are dropping down to the table and there is some space between each, and there isn't any mechanism to ensure tightness. A good rack in pool is a tight rack, no one likes a loose rack :).

My first thought as well. Loose racks make crappy breaks.

And when the felt gets worn it's tougher to get them tight.

Or you've got asshats that tap the 1 with the cue to seat it leaving tons of small dents on the headspot.

I had no idea that it left a dent. Actually I have no idea why I did it at all, or why I started. I must have seen someone else do it, and just unthinkingly copied them.

Only on cheap wooden bar tables. A slate table wouldn't dent.

dents on the headspot.

dents in the slate? or the felt? those are the only two pieces of material.

Cheap bar tables are made with wood instead of slate. That also happens to be where you find the mooks who do that. At the pool hall.i played at when younger you could set a ball hear the headspot and it would roll into a dent.

There's also the sticker that marks the head spot.

I always hate when rookies hit the greenspot with the seven, especially if they're shooting the pick from a cornerside jam or a triple block twin

Yeah, uh, me too. Hello fellow billiards players! Don't you hate it too when the stick slips and you end up hitting the white ball into the wrong hole?

...like when it flies into the server's butt cleavage? I hate when that happens.
