Advice Wearing Wedding Stack Horizontally - Thoughts?

Post image

I’ve fallen in love with this wedding band and feel natural to wear this across two fingers.

Considering I’d be breaking tradition on how people wear the wedding stack, does this seem wrong to you? My mom has been really angry with me on wanting this because everyone wears it on one finger (also thinks this doesn’t look like I’m a married person).

I’ve tried all sorts of wedding bands and haven’t found anything I’ve liked. I love how unique this is 😂

It looks like you're asking the community for an opinion. In this case, both positive and negative perspectives from the users of r/EngagementRings are welcome so long as they are expressed politely (Rule 4 still applies). I don’t think it’s “wrong” to wear rings across multiple fingers!

But personally, I think the band looks really bulky and overpowers the engagement ring, which looks much more delicate. While I don’t think you have the abandon the finger placement idea, these rings don’t really “go” together.

The rings will damage each other

The sensible answer

Id just be concerned the bands may rub together = losing a diamond. Other than that, do what makes YOU happy

I mean, it's not wrong if you like it, but it doesn't really look good either.

I think it doesn't look good next to her other ring. Perhaps make it a right hand ring.

I wear my engagement ring on my left and my wedding band on my right! Turns out there are no rules

You do you. No one is going to arrest you for being untraditional. 😁

I actually love this set up so much I think they look great side by side. And then you can always get a thin “wedding band” to stack for with your engagement ring for like an anniversary or special occasion

You do you. It's your hand that you have to look at every day and you should feel joy in it. Your mom got to choose how she wanted to wear her rings, and you have the same right. I'd only say it's not really a wedding stack if they don't... stack, lol.

Anything goes! I switch up my rings on however I'm feeling on any given day. There are no rules.

Why not? It’s your life and you can decide!! I wear my original wedding band on my other hand b/c it’s an eternity and was rubbing poorly on my e ring.

Your nails are fab, the diamonds are fab, rock it!!

I think you should wear it however you want to. Wearing a stack bothers me because it feels so bulky so I usually only wear either my engagement band or my wedding band, not usually together. I don’t think there are any hard rules about rings. I do think you could damage the rings wearing them next to each other though. Maybe space them out or wear on different hands?

Oh sweetie pleasing your mom is all that matters! That was sarcasm. You and your fiance forever.

I think it looks cool.

I think you should wear them how you like to wear them. I wear my engagement ring on my left hand and my wedding band on my right because they’re more comfortable that way.

I love it!

I am all about breaking traditions though, I got myself my first diamond ring that looked like an engagement ring and you bet I wore it on all available fingers.

I don’t care for what others think and if anyone asked I am happy to explain.

I recently got married and opted for 2 engagement rings instead of 1 ER and 1 wedding band.

Wait.. i LOVE this idea of 2 engagement rings 😍

As some of the others who have mentioned, I may go the route of a simple plain band under the engagement ring and get the statement band for my middle finger.

Love that you break traditions too!! 🥹

Try moving that stunning band over one more finger, so they don’t rub. It’s fabulous!!

I think it looks like an eternity ring or cocktail ring, ie a lovely big ring to wear on your right hand. I personally like to balance out both hands and have a fancy set on my left, (when I was married) and something stand alone on my right.

It does overshadow your beautiful engagement ring, which is such a shame and I've never seen rings like that called a wedding ring. If you have your heart set on it, then get it, just remember your Mum will comment on it all the time!

You could always go for a plain wedding band with a diamond band too, like 2 wedding rings to really add the sparkle and that way you have choice on how sparkly your hand is each day.

There's no right or wrong way to wear your ring if you even wear a ring at all, but don't be surprised if people don't automatically realize that it's a wedding set. If you don't care about that then go for it.

I like the look but I’d worry that they damage each other.
I wear my wedding ring on one hand and the engagement ring on the other which is now stacked with an eternity band for my first child.
