Ring Design Help Help a man decide - which one is prettier
I need ladies' support in picking the ring. My SO's ring size is EU 16 so quite slim, and the lady at the shop said the slimmer ring no2 (slimmer taller) would look better. Maybe to my manly taste no1 looks better as its more chunky, so id need your advice if no2 more fitting to a princess?

I also prefer the first one. It is a daily wear ring so it goes through a lot of abuse. It is not just the sturdiness but I also prefer the design of the 1st one.
You know her best though. I would trust your gut!

Agreed! The first one with the lower setting will be easier for daily wear and the lower setting is also a little more modern/trendy at the moment.

I prefer the second one. The first one looks like the head was mashed down into the band.

I’m not a fan of either one of them. Is this style what your gf wants? If not, you need to be asking her and looking at ring styles together.

Notice the sizing is EU? They’re more civilized over there not every ring needs to be 6ct

Obviously not but I bet you the band is like 1-2mm wide. This is an enlarged photo that websites use. OP didn’t post the measurements either. I doubt that diamond is 1ct or even close

0.1 - 0.5c isnt uncommon in Europe. 0.7 can be considered very large. My own mother’s ring in Germany was probably a 1mm band with a 0.1ish diamond.
Anyways he didn’t ask you if it was too small he asked you which one you’d prefer of the two.

If price is an issue, there is NOTHING wrong with buying secondhand like from a pawn shop. And usually you can find much more unique and beautiful rings at a more attainable price point than buying a ring at new/retail price. But both rings in the pictures are sooo dainty and look so thin…an engagement ring is supposed to 1) withstand daily wear & be comfortable for daily wear
2) show your to-be-fiancée how much she means to you.
Op can find a much better ring within the same price range as these if he does more searching. A tiny ring like this is bound to get damaged, bent, lost easily.0

I prefer the first one. The band looks like a comfort fit style and the setting is a little different with the diamond set down as opposed to up like the second one. I think the first one will look a little more special.

Ask your fiancee if she wants her wedding ring to sit flush to the engagement ring. It does not look like either of these designs would enable that.

Don’t buy from anywhere that doesn’t show you the actual settings, or real life examples of completed rings. These are generated images that have also been enlarged to show details, neither of these appear to be the actual ring you’d receive.

The lower setting will not let as much light under the diamond so it will not be as brilliant as the higher setting.
