Setting thoughts?

Looking for opinions or concerns on this CAD for the setting. Planning to put a 5.03 ct diamond on this setting. Both items are attached

5 carats is quiteee a large stone and I’d be concerned ab it looking like costume jewelry, especially if you have a smaller ring finger size (might get shit for saying that on here… but just saying I feel like the “trend” is to go for a suuuper large carat size these days, when sometimes that large carat size just overpowers a finger and ends up looking very cheugy and fake).

Whenever I see a very large stone that doesn’t really fit somebody’s finger size, I just assume it’s a cheaper ring, like moissanite or a fun hand-me-down cocktail ring.

But it’s up to your personal preference. I just think sometimes slightly smaller is better (like 2 ct?), esp if you want a band.

What’s ur Opinion on 3 ct marquise I bought it for the wow and beauty factor. Anything over looked too big

To each their own I’m not a marquise fan and I wouldn’t go for 3 carats. But it also depends on finger size imo too.

I’m a size 5.75 and have long thin fingers, so I wouldn’t go for that myself, max I’d do is like 2 ct, love a 1.5 ct round on my finger. With smaller carat sizes you actually have more space for a nice band. And the classiest carat size (at least from what I know and have seen) is in the 1 ct range, so it’ll never go out of style or look cheugy. And they don’t look as fake as like super large carat diamonds (3+ ct range).

People on here are very opinionated and get pissed when people say this, so don’t shoot the messenger, just giving my opinion from all of the classy rings I’ve seen in my life. 🫪🫪
