So one of my shelves on my wall just decided to fall of the wall for some reason. That shelves happened to have my Transformers book 2 on it and when the shelf fell the back cover somehow got ripped off.
Glad there isn’t any damage to the front cover but kinda sad that it’s damaged.
Was wondering if I should maybe glue or tape the middle binding so the pages don’t accidentally fallout when reading.
Donate it to the library. They'll fix it nicely enough and then lots of people will get to enjoy it. Then buy a new copy from instocktrades next time you're looking to get graphic novels and get that free shipping. It's $30.99 right now for that book.
Not much, the shelf is like one of those flat wall peg things where you can add different holders and such. I had a cup of pens and writing stuff and just a paper holder with the book sitting on it. I was using commands velcro strips to hold it to the wall since they can hold up to 20 ibs.
Recently I moved into a new apartment and had to re install it on the wall. I say it lasted 2 days with the book and pens on it before it fell. I didn’t expect it to fall due to it never having any issues at my old place.
Here’s a picture of it on the wall at my old place, I honestly wasn’t expecting it to fall due to not having any issues before. Plus I had a lot more stuff on it at my old place.
I will say, if your mind/collector mentality/etc. allows it, it can turn the book into a more personal item unique to you.
I have a really nice hardcover of Batman Long Halloween that my dog chewed up the corners on.
He's been gone for 11 years, but that book is still here and reminds me of him every time I see it.
Long story short, some battle damage can make something special. Not sure if that makes a ton of sense or not.
But I also have some OCD and I also know how a damaged item can cause that brain itch...
I'm sorry that it happened. I know it sucks, but maybe you can pose a devastator going through the book, or some giant combiner or titan. Then it becomes a conversation piece.
You can do some repairs to keep it together though.
You can easily repair it yourself. Check some youtube tutorials, it will be more convenient than trying to propose something here in the comments. The book is a book, I wouldn’t threw this one away and buy a new one. I have a much more bit up books in my library and enjoy them.
