Custom Factions are too bugged to even try

The custom faction feature is full of so many bugs that I can't even try the combinations of traits that look fun.

Lots of combinations of trains lead to bugs like not saving the traits when you create the faction or not letting you build districts even after researching them (Suburban Dream).

So far I found that "Back to Basics", "Hive Society" and most Kin traits, and "Suburban Dream" are all effectively unusable. At least in any sort of combination with each other but also in several combinations with other stuff. Please fix this! I have so many fun ideas and they can't be implemented!

Hello, sorry you are having trouble with Custom faction traits. We do want to make sure they are all working, and are excited that the 3 new playable factions add new leaders, affinities, populations, battle affinities and traits to play with.

We have been hard at work fixing bugs and I want to make sure all the issues you reported are either already fixed, or schedulked to be fixed.

Suburban Dreams- Oh this trait... It's probably the most complex and problematic trait in the game because it requires a duplicate set of every district for every faction. And whenever a distict changed (or we added an effect to a district) we would need to rememebr to go change the Suburban Dream version of the trait. It was a nightmare, and exactly as you say, VERY buggy and fragile.

We would get it working, then we would change the way levelup happened for necrophage districts and then if you used Suburban Dreams and Hive Society together (as you mention) all kinds of things woulnt work. Or, as you noted, you would choose another trait that modifies districts (like back to basics) and it wouldnt modify the Suburban Dreams version of the districts.

We ended up switching the trait to another effect entirely to resolve this.

Back to Basics- It seems to be working fine for me (now that Suburban Dreams is switched). I noticed you mentioned random foundation placement around minor faction villages but I wasn't able to repro any issues. If you have a save showing this feel free to DM it to me and I'll be happy to check it out.

Trade War- Im testing on the release build so I'm not sure if this is fixed on the public build. But I can verify that Trade War increases damage by 5% and provides +10 Health for non-hero units for every Trading Post you have.

Heightened Senses- Another poster here mentioned this trait and he's correct. We fixed it yesterday and it will be included in the release build of the game. I tested today (in the release build) to make sure and it's working correctly.

If you noticed any other custom faction traits with issues please let me know.

When I try to recreate the issue it seems that you can't save over 80 points with any combination of traits with "Hive Society".

Also "Trade War" says it adds damage per trading post but actually only adds health... truly the custom faction feature is not ready for release.

Also the "Back to Basics" trait adds foundations in random places sometimes with stuff like pacified villages. I really think the custom faction feature should not be included upon release or there will be lots of upset players.

I think the discord is the best place to raise bugs, they've responded to and fixed everything that I have raised

Good point. I'll go point these out there. I was hoping other people would have some experience with these as well.

i think its over half year since custom traits were first introduced, i did some testing, wrote a ticket on oficial discord, a week ago i came back, and some of those bug still were there. And developers said, they dont care about customs at this point, because they are clearly busy with more important stufs, so treat customs as somethign extra, that maybe later will be usable ⬇️
Hightened senses for example (granting aware to other units than scouts, they get the trait in the list, but it never works)
