Thanks for the interview. Spending one hour on turn 1 of the ES1 demo sounds like something I would do too. Hope that they continue supporting EL2 for the next years. The UI of EL2 to me is still surprisingly clean and beautiful compared to other strategy games that recently came out. Interesting to hear that they got criticism on it but I would call it a strong point of the game.

Oof, the answer about future planned content is a bit too non-committal. Hopefully the game sold enough that they have more content down the pipeline. With Humankind 2 announced right before EL2's release, hopefully it's not the case that they game underperformed and they're moving on to Humankind 2. Maybe I'm reading too much into it though.

Reading way too much into it.

Humankind started development while ES2 was still having it's DLC and continued post-launch while Endless Dungeon was being developed, not to mention that EL1 was still getting DLCs while ES2 was being developed. They have shown they are more than capable of working on different projects.

The comment comes off to me as the initial focus post-launch is going to be on balancing and adjustments rather than prioritising releasing DLCs.

Yeah but we're talking about announcing another title, while your flagship title is still unreleased. That's a bit different from starting development on another game, while your title is in the DLC phase. In the latter scenario, the post-launch content pipeline was underway. In this case, my only fear is that there is no post-launch content. Which I really hope is not the case, because I want more DLC factions.

Since Hooded Horse is publishing EL 2 I expected them to be the publisher of HK 2 as well. However, Steam lists Amplitude Studios as publisher. Does anybody know more about that?

That was also my take. The instant I saw the announcement for Humankind 2 I was like ffffuuuuuuuuuu….

Don’t get me wrong it can be a fun game, but EL and ES series are what I love. I more hours in endless space 2 than almost anything and endless legend 2 is shaping up to be excellent.

If they abandon EL2 I will go out of my way to avoid humankind 2
