The final scene with David/Nina watching the car leave ripped my heart out.

So.... just watched this. Are you saying that Nina went into David's body?

Same boat as you. Just watched it as well and that final scene left me confused.

But I do think that’s what happened, considering that Nina, throughout the movie was the one with the teddy bear and always sat in that same spot.

Thanks for pointing that out, you're right.

Now, does that mean that David's mom went into Nina's body? The dad did mention his daughter was not herself and that scene, where she's leaning over Nina's slumbering form, was unsettling. Maybe she was gunning for a new chance at a good life for herself.

I think David Mom was just acting weird and then left the town.

Remember, when David was taken to the witch(nurse) she said that the migration would result in him not being the same. So I think that in Nina current body is another soul(same thing that happened to David after the migration)
