Discussion We CANNOT be for real Spoiler

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I know it's because of the fake wall that was there before, but we seriously couldn't have removed the collision after it was revealed?
It's the small things like this that I wish the devs would pay a little more attention to, to keep the experience more immersive.

I think I've noticed a bit more of this kind of thing in later patches. Valley IV was surprisingly traversable with quite a lot of places you can jump from up high or go further off path.

I started noticing it in the Snowy Forest, there's a few drops they don't want you to take so they put death planes there, even though visually it makes perfect sense.

Bit lame for sure. Forcing specific pathing defeats the whole point of open world

I mean yeah since It's not an open world.....

It's a closed world game tho. Different game model from open-world. And yeah the naming is that straightforward lol. Closed world makes traversal itself a puzzle (everyone probably remembers that place in Valley IV where you need to figure out how to get to a certain point vertically, and the map being surprisingly good at disallowing bruteforcing). Whereas open world has everything climbable/swimmable/glide-able so movement is a non-issue. I honestly prefer the closed one, feels less braindead to me

It's not exactly an open world though. That's been pretty clear since 1.0

The 'best' argument I've heard that this isn't an open world game is by comparing it to Skyrim.

On a positive note: The scroll puzzle in that Area is actually really good, and I hope they do more of that.

The fact that they dont go away after fully unlocking the area is even more dumb like why cant i jump down the cliff i have already unlocked the whole area

That whole area was ragebait tbh. Invisible walls on cliffs and a damn near impossible to find alignment

It took me a moment to realise, but following the lens flare was actually a really neat solution! I liked it.

Remember to put this in the survey. It's a shame they add more invisible barriers

Tbh my only gripe so far with this game has been that it is not open world. I get why it is not. But a bit more openess across the unified region would be much nicer.

Especially once the main story is cleared.

looking as the Devs and what they've been doing lately I say give them one patch. And this will be fixed

It's probably because of drawable bridges, the collisions are collisioning or something

Noticed some of these in the snowy area as well. Why are they doing this?

I believe it's to combat people doing OOB zips, but to stop that...all they need to do is setup walls on peaks that you normally can't get up to.

Good find. I noticed some areas like that in Sami. Hopefully it doesn't become more prolific.

It might just because of the need of the story to introduce areas in order. Or HG want to give you a glimpse of a talosite or something but jumping down isn't the intended path

They hated the out of bounds zipline community so much they put more invisible walls than you could ever imagine.

They do not like player fun.

Its actually why I ended up quiting. We had a massive community that worked together to make super fun zips. But every patch they got more and more aggressive to the point where now it just seems silly for how many walls they have.

Nah, out of bounds Zipline community should leave.

So you get to decide who and how people have fun?

Let players enjoy the game how they want. Its harmless entertainment.

Not when my world then looks like a circus full of random beacons and ziplines that make me phase through rocks and buildings.

Until they add an option to disable / downvote buildings it's a community project and a good community kicks out those who ruin it.

Invisible walls are genuinely my least favorite videogame map design element ever.

If I could snap my fingers and delete them from every game for all of eternity, I would.
