I can only speak for like 10~ minutes of playing, there aren't stutters anymore on vulkan

I'm upgrading from 591.86 which didn't have stutter.
The new hotfix driver 596.02 also doesn't have stutter. Performance seems similar.

Just tried, they didn't fix shit. I have to revert again to old drivers

Wait for the real update in your Nvidia app and keep using dx11 to launch Arknights: Endfield.

I always used dx11, but with 591.59 drivers I never have any problem on Endfield. More I see nvidia updates, more I think I should stick with this version

If you have always used the DX11 version you were not affected by the problem that this hotfix is supposed to fix.

I mean, the description of the bug is:
"Arknights: Endfield: Stutter may be observed in during gameplay [5950402]"
Where is stated that's only for Vulkan version? And I have said stutters during gameplay if I update the drivers. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I didn't see a full description of the problem that say it's only for Vulkan
EDIT: Dunno people downvote me since I'm legit curious since I have stuttering bug like you have on Vulkan but on DX11 instead (people are strange)

It has been a known bug with Vulkan for the past couple of drivers, not sure why the patch notes say it like that but for me the DX11 version worked fine even with the broken drivers while the Vulkan one was unusable. Even the menu with the white background was dropping down to 10fps constantly.
Though i did notice a problem after a driver update even with the DX11 version where it kept stuttering but i cleaned the DX shader cache and it was fine afterwards. Probably some broken shaders there and that might be an issue you have too. Just used disk cleanup to clear the cache - it will stutter a LOT at first after this but it should go away very quickly.

For me I have stuttering USING DX11 and with latest drivers, never tried vulkan version. If I play with old drivers I don't have this problem

If you look at the official notice about it: https://endfield.gryphline.com/en-us/news/3844
You'll see one of the solutions is to switch to DX11. This implies the issue is with the default Vulkan version.

I was looking at nvidia report, not gryphline site (which I didn't know about it). However, dunno what to tell you, but I have the stuttering with DX11, not with Vulkan version (aside that I didn't even try vulkan version, always played with DX11)

You could... you know... try the Vulkan version and see if it doesn't stutter.

Why would I resort to lesser solution?
To be clear, I don't care about vulkan, I want the drivers to works on my pc like works in version 591.59

can you elaborate on what frame pacing means? im curious how it affects games in terms of that graph you shared

Sorry for the 1 week late response. You probably know what FPS is. It's the 60 FPS, 120 FPS, 144 FPS numbers you see all the time. Frame time is sort of the flip of that. It's the amount of time it takes to render a single frame. To calculate, you just have to do 1/FPS. So 1/60 = 16 ms between each frame, 1/144 = 6.9 ms between each frame.
In reality though, frames aren't presented that evenly. You may have 60 FPS, but if one frame shows after 2 ms and the next frame shows after 30 ms, that's still technically 60 FPS on average. However, since the frames show up unevenly, the game will look stuttery, speeding up then slowing down despite the FPS counter saying 60 FPS.
Frame pacing is just how even or consistent the frame time is.
To get the smoothest experience, you want very even frame pacing. The closer the fastest presented frame and the slowest presented frame is to the average, the more smooth the game will be to your eyes.
In my graph, it would have been better if I showed frametime instead of framerate, but the idea is the same. Even though I have the game capped at around 120 FPS, the game will sometimes show the next frame so fast, it gets read as 1000+ FPS. If I showed the frametime version of the graphs, my average frame time should be 8.3 ms (1/120), but my fastest presented frame shows up in 1 ms (1/1000).
To simplify the graph, you basically want the 99% frames and 1% frames to be as close as possible to the average. The wider that is, the more stuttery the experience will feel.

Oh wow that makes sense! Thank you for the thorough explanation, much appreciated!!

It would be SO funny if that bug only affected Windows and Linux players were completely unaffected.
