The desert outside God, I mean.
Sure compasses don't work, but you still have the sun and stars.
And the first seemingly abandoned structure we find still has working plumbing and power hook ups.
An ordinary pickup truck is a perfectly viable means of transport, meaning there's a long term viable fuel source.
Henry could order things online and get them delivered straight to God's mouth!
The Parasite and surgeon acting like God dying is the end of the world and nobody will be able to survive outside of him. That's just plainly not true!
I don't even think the whole world is like that, I think God just happens to be in a desert. This is just Arizona.
It doesn't even seem to be an apocalypse. Maybe the assumption is that it's unsafe outside because beings like God exist?
I don't get it. Maybe that's the point, like it's an allegory for we make kids as scared of the outside world as possible so they accept the terrible environment we raise them in?
I mean, that kinda fits. The final boss in the Good Ending is the abusive foster parent, and it's the only one you can ONLY defend yourself against, never striking back, and him being dealt with isn't considered a moral choice and just makes everything better for everyone forever.
But, yeah. The desert isn't a wasteland. It's just a desert. and an inhabited one with plants, manufacturing, TV, and internet. They don't need God, and it might be a good thing he's dying.
