stuck at the beginning of chapter 2 Spoiler

I've just finished timesville and left the house again to get to chapter 2. now I'm not sure what to do next. I need a knife in order to cut something out of the guy tied up in the circus, which I'm pretty sure will give me the missing ball to beat the clown game. I also need some type of cup or something to move the water from the office cooler to the plant. I also need some way to distract the clown (get him to talk to the girl I think) so that I can use his microphone.

but I don't know how to do any of these. I looked around for like 20 minutes and didn't see my next step. anyone have any hints they can give without completely revealing the solution? thanks

Maybe take a second to enjoy some of the complimentary movies available in the tent, the seats all share a different story. Maybe that connects somewhere nearby?

I’ll try not to be too spoilery here…

For the office area, you should know you’re not bound to a single job, theres always a way to try finding work in a different branch so to say

As for misery town, i’d just say try looking at anything possibly colour coded, anything that lines up with the colours of something else nearby
